Yes it is a good rest if a full containment rest is what you are looking to get. I use to shoot one but switched to the Hostage Pro to avoid the fletching contact that you have with a WB.
i used a biscuit for about 2yrs, i liked it a lot... passed it on to my sons bow and it is really a great rest for him... I may go back to a biscuit but i've still got some experimenting to do with fallaways
heard nothing but good stuff about it! i might actually switch to it, how much does it effect you fletchings and FPS, from you guys who have used it?
the biggest downside to the biscuit is that it damaged your fletching a little... if you swap to blazers or some super durable fletch though you'll be fine... slightly noisy, but not so much you'd care imho... my only real gripe with the biscuit is that I lost sight of the arrows flight as the biscuit blocked it for that split second as it passed thru... maybe if I had lighted nocks or somethin...
It's a solid and simple rest that performs well and you can count on being there every time which is exactly what a hunter needs. I've had no problems with the 2" Blazer vanes through mine even with full helical. I'm about to have my girlfriend shooting 4" helical feathers through hers and I'm doubting they're going to hold up as well but when she wears them out I'll fletch her up with Blazers.
I shoot one and love it. No problems at all except when I went to two inch blazers I just had to twist the nock into a different position. Reliable, quiet, and no moving parts to fail. I even cut out some of the brown hairs out of it in little sections where the vanes pass through so my blazer vanes would got through with less drag. If you shoot blazers and turn your odd fletching up you can do this without cutting the black support hairs, you obviously don't want to do that.
I shoot them exclusively on my hunting bows. I really like them a lot. No issues when using properly fletched arrows with quality vanes/feathers. Last year I shot with heavy offset feathers and they were great, and I've shot blazers through it for years with no issues. I've also used them in pouring rain, and in the late PA season when it was in single digit temps. No issues ever. I don't see myself changing anytime soon.
Great rest for a starter and the full containment is definately nice. I didn't like the noise. I could hear it when I pulled the bow back on the arrow.
I have alot of friends that shoot the WB and love them. I shoot the QAD Ultra rest pro series and like it. I might give the WB a run sometime.
Its a good rest, I have the original. But, get the more expensive ones with the notch cut out of it and the adjustment lines.
I love mine, will never use another rest. Unless something better comes out, wich i think is going to be hard to do...
They really are pretty nice. My complaints would have to be the noise and the wear on the fletchings. I know everyone's saying that but it's true. I used several types of vanes and they all started to tear or stretch after a while but I shoot a lot. If you want a full capture style rest then they are a good option. However, you can get the best of both worlds by using a rest like the Octane Hostage rest. They are very dependable and have replaceable brushes. Not to mention that they don't tear your fletchings or slow down the flight of the arrow at all. JMO
I just replaced my whisker biscuit with a fall away. The noise when drawing at times spooks the deer. I tried all the suggestions for quieting the draw with the biscuit and decided a new rest of a different type was the only real solution.
I just got the quick shot in June and it works awesome. I have been putting 25 arrows a day thru it since then and there are no signs of wear and tear.
