I have to confess, my dog just looked at me strange because I busted out laughing after reading that one. Thanks for the laugh. I hope the OP has a sense of humor... great advice followed our antics. I hunt with Ben / PA often, either hunting or camera work... he's left handed and I'm right and we set our stands accordingly. I like the face away from the tree at full draw so I'll set stands accordingly IF I suspect where deer may come from... otherwise I point the stand to an area when I'm not sure or deer come from anywhere... there are times when a right handed stand sucks for a left handed shooter and vice versa so at times, it does matter... When setting your stand, consider where deer will most likely be and set it to your comfort position and whether you stand to shoot or stay seated.
If I'm in the climber, I face the tree. If I'm in a hangon, I'm facing away from tree - BUT I always want the deer coming from behind me. It has never failed me. Tree = cover.
Usually north to keep as much sun off me as I can... If i cant face it north then whatever direction I can make a shot over my left shoulder to keep the tree between me and the deer.
I tried this while sitting on the toilet. Its comfortable as long as you take your pants off..hahahaha
