Im kind of new to this and wanting to get a few good trail cameras but dont know which one to get any advice pleas?
The Moultrie M80 or some of the Coverts would be a good place to start. Really depends on how much you want to spend. Here are two websites that can be a great help when considering a trailcam purchase. www.trailcampro.com and www.chasingame.com. Hope this helps but I warn you, this is a very addictive hobby. Defiantly look at the Bushnell 119466. It's low glow ( I can't see it) and had HD videos. I have two of them and one has 1,627 20 second videos and the batteries still tested 1.55 a couple of days ago. I plan to buy another one soon. Just don't buy their 119467 as they have problems.
I have a Moutrie M-80 and a Primos 46. So far, knock on wood, the M-80 is awesome. I have thousands of pics with it already and it is working very well. Great night and day photos and excellent trigger speed. I like the Primos picture quality, but my two dings on it are the loud "clunk" noise and a little bit slower trigger speed. My next camera will be either another M-80 or I will be checking out the Covert line of cameras. Pat, gutone4me, posts on here alot and he has tons of awesome photos with his Coverts and he never has anything bad to say about them. The price is good too for both the M-80 and the Coverts.
After hearing good things about he M80, I picked up one last night. I put a fish head out in my backyard from a fishing trip recently so we will see what comes to visit it. I have tons of deer tracks, some of which are pretty decent, and just the other day I saw some smaller dog tracks. I know I've seen a fox back there a couple years ago, but coyotes are something that I would be pleased to see. Im going to check it tonight just to see if it snapped any pictures of anything. I'm chomping at the bit to get out of work to check it.
Put the M80 out last night for its first sit over night, I wasnt able to get to it till 2:45 this afternoon, but it did catch a couple things. Only one shot of deer, mostly squirrels on the 8 photos it took. I put it back out in the same spot for another night to see if anything else shows up, Im excited to see what else might cross its path. That fish head isnt smelling to hot anymore so we will see if it attracts anything.
