I have never used them, they appear to be a good design and a lot of people swear by them so I would assume they are a good broad head.

I'm sure they fly like field points and work great from a bow with a lot of energy, I wouldn't advise getting them with your bow though.

I hunt private land in the midlands of South Carolina, about 30 miles SE of Columbia. 210 acres of 2/3 mature hardwoods with 1/3 planted pines (about 8 years old). 2 ponds and a creek on the property, near the edge of the Congaree river swamp.

IMO....thats too much broadhead for 55lbs. Not that 55 lbs is too low...I've killed several deer with a 55 lb. bow when I was a teenager. It's just that the Rage extreme is a 2.3 inch blade open on contact head. It takes a lot of KE push that bad boy through that deer. I would look at the the Low KE's Rage 1.5" cut. The G5 Montecs you mentioned are good heads as well. I hope you understand what I'm saying about the Rage extreme...good luck

I did all my hunting in NC growing up. Been in VA for almost 6 years now and hunted for the first time here last year, with no sucsess.

North Alabama and Southern Tennessee! We do not have the giants that roam in the midwest but we frequently see 130 to 140 inch deer! Live in NE AL(Jackson County) and hunt the southern tip of the Cumberland Plateau. Ridge Runners! BTW: ROLL TIDE!

Two months ago I drove through northern Alabama on my way up to Nashville, I was surprised at how nice it was there, looked like beautiful country for hunting.

I just started hunting this past deer season. Fortunate to have family land in Central MS to hunt on and some friend's land along the Big Black River close to Port Gibson. Have hunted once in Central AL and once in East Texas. Planning a special "dream exotic" trip to Texas as part of my retirement present to myself. Will be hunting Nilgai bull and an Axis doe. Can't wait.

I live in PA, work in MD, and hunt in VA. Well, actually, I hunt in all three. But Virginia is the only state that I have hunted where you can hunt deer, turkey, and bear at the same time. And have a reasonable chance of seeing anyone of the three.,
