For one, get to a shop and try a few out. Most shops and even box stores will let ya try em out before you buy. A release is personal, it has to work for you. A nice basic release that won't break the bank that I have recomended for friends is a Tru Ball Cyclone. Good luck.

My Tru-Fire 3 Finger Stalker works great, and I think you can get it for $49 at Cabelas.

I was shooting Tru Fire just switched to a Scott Shark. What a difference. The Tru Fire was extremely reliable but does not work well from a D loop because of the squared edges of the calibers. I would recommend a Scott release, reasonable price, great product.

I like this release because I can hook it into the D-loop without looking down and taking my eyes off the deer.
