Going to try out the Rage this year but not sure which one to get??? Im Shooting a Matthews Mission x3 at 29 inches at 60 pounds... I heard that you have to have a ceratin poundage to open some of them? Thinking about the 3 blade or the basic 2 blade.

The Rage 3 blades will work VERY WELL for you. The basic two blades will work too, but you may have a problem with them at 60lbs. I have been shooting the basic two blade every since they came out and I LOVE THEM! My bow is set to 72lbs so I have never had a problem with them. My friend's bow is set to 62 lbs and he has lost a couple of deer using the basic two blades; however, he has killed 10 times more than he has lost. I know you will like the 3 blades for sure. I am trying the new 2 blade Rage Extreme this year. Good Hunting this year! Let me know how they work out for you.

dont buy rage my friend has lost deer because of them get a set of muzzys. Rage's are not worth the money.

I already have Muzzys and if its a really big deer or a longer or difficult shot I will use them. Just want the Rages to try out and test. Leaning more towards the 3 blade...

How do you plan to shoot both mechanicals and fixed broadheads and be accurate? IMO you should stick to either fixed or mechanical and tune your bow to achieve the most accurate arrow flight, otherwise you are asking for problems.

i shoot the 2 blade rage out of my drenalin set at 62lbs,and have all pass thru shots on ten deer....

all recoverd with 60yds,but all my shots were broadside and 22yds and under (checkd with range finder)....

passd up on deer the last three years using the rage if they were not broadside.....so shot placement

for me is a big deal.....good luck in your decision, russ

I can go out and shoot rage and slick tricks and virtually have no change of impact...guess its all on how well the bows tuned

Huh? If your bow is tuned properly, it should make no difference whatsoever.
To hunter, do yourself a favor and try the NAP Bloodrunners. Same devistation, without having to worry about the blades always opening in your quiver. And no worries about them not opening on a deer.
I used Rage for a couple of seasons, and sure they do the job. Now I wouldn't hunt with them if you gave them to me!

A few years back when Rage came out they were all the ****! Since then so many other companies have come out with simular versions and improved so much on them. Rage has made a few improvements but I don't believe nearly enough to be competitive anymore with some of the other simular heads on the market.

I would take a look at the NAP Killzones.

This is what I will be shooting this year along with many of the Bowhunt or Die crew.

I've been shooting 2-blades just fine out of my 62# bow for the last 5 years. Having said that I'm going to give Hellrazors a try this fall or next.

    Rage

I have shot rage 3 blade for the last 2 years and both have been pass thru. 1 at 21 yards and the other at 38 yards. Both deer went only about 70 yards. I shot at 59#

I have the 2 blade and love them. However, I'm considering switching it up the NAP version because they dont open up all of the time. The rages will open every time its touched. My only complaint! If you shoot a deer with the 2 blade you won't believe the blood trail it will leave. But that won't matter because you'll more then likely see you deer drop.

I shoot the 2 blade. The broadheads are just like any other, shot placement is the most important factor in getting a pass through and leaving a good blood trail.

If you are wanting to try the rage I would get this years new ones. The Rage Chisel tip. They may have found a way to make me go out and buy another pack.

My Dad, both brothers, and myself all use Rage 3-blade 100gr. The only problems I've had the last yrs hunting with them was my own fault. Rushed shot and small limb deflection. Both deer were still recovered, but not as easily as I would have liked. Mechanicals are an easy scapegoat to blame whatever happened on. I've had excellent results using them, as have my Dad and little brother. Too many people want to blame the broadhead for poor shot placement or or just plain laziness (not practicing enough). If you want to try the Rage, I say 'go for it'. I heard a lot of bad stuff about them too before I got mine, but wanted to give them a chance. It's really whatever you're comfortable with. If you're anxious about how your set-up will perform, that will be in your mind and can cause other mistakes. You have to have confidence in your own ability and the ability of your equipment. Best of luck to you in whatever you choose :)

Bought the 3 blades last year and hated them. Every time you turn around 1 or more blades has opened. I got rid of them and went to the NAP Bloodrunner 3 blade.
