Well I'm in the market for a new hunting pack, preferably a backpack style. What would everyone recommend? I don't want an expensive pack, so anything Badlands is out  It would be nice if it had enough room that I could throw my rain gear in just in case it starts raining when I'm out.

    Anyone have a suggestion?

Badlands Superday backpack is what I carry into the woods the most. It is by far my favorite pack. Sorry I couldn't be more help :D

Yeah, probably a mid-size pack. Just something I can throw all my calls, scent away spray, rattling antlers, etc in. The bigger the better, to a certain extent anyways. The Cabelas Elite Scout pack is what has my eye right now, but if you fellers have something better let me know.

I know you said you didn't want to spend much, but i'd go badlands, lol. I've owned bad packs before, and now i've owned 6 badlands. To me, it's a night and day difference. Granted I have some chronic back and shoulder issues, but I feel alot better after a day in my badlands vs. other packs. For the quality, ergonomics, and warranty their though to top out.

I agree with this! I had some cheaper packs that barely lasted a full hunting season. My badlands has been a very durable pack and I'm giving their Monster Fanny a serious look for my shorter hunting outings. My personal opinion is badlands is the way to go.

I have a Badlands Whitetail Pack and it is a great pack. However, I found that it was about too much. I wanted to get the weight down but I wanted something that would carry all my gear and allow me to be even more mobile. I bought the Cabela's Extreme Bowhunter Series Lumbar pack and I am here to tell you this is every bit the pack that my Badlands is, but meets all of my other criteria. This pack is a lot larger then you think it is from the pics but is still unobtrusive, I absolutely love it. If the other Cabelas pack you are looking at is of the same quality as this thing you will not regret the purchase and it will hold up to anything that you can throw at it. If you can afford it though, I highly recommend this pack. Good luck and God bless.

Wow, sounds like there are a lot more Badlands fans than I thought there would be  I just don't think I can swing $170-$200 for a hunting pack right now, I'm just a broke college student who has an expensive addiction

Timberhawk Gear makes a great quality pack and is very resonably priced. I have owned two of their packs and the quality is great.

GMMAT also owns one of their packs, PM him for his impression as well if you would like.

Those look pretty sweet, that might just be what I get instead of the cabelas pack. A bow holder is a plus, that way I can carry my decoy with both hands during the rut. Thanks for chiming in :tu:

I have a Fieldline that has lasted me for years hunting here in Wisconsin. Although, I love my Mystery Ranch Crew Cab for the serious hunts away from home.
