For a flash camera I would go with a DLC Covert Reveal the 2012 models take 8 MP pictures. For an IR I would get a DLC Covert MP6 which is new for 2012 and a really good camera. Both are in the $130 range.

Personal preference only. Some believe flash spooks game. Personally I have a hard time liking black and white night photos but need the IR cameras for night videos.

You will get arguments all day about whether flash spooks game but really there is no clear answer. Deer are individules and while it bothers some, others are oblivious to it. For the money I think it's hard to beat the Moultrie M80. Lots of features for the money. You might want to log onto www.trailcampro.com or www.chasingame.com and read their reviews on the various units.

    Blessings.......Pastorjim

sorry you did not get much info.

Look into the dlc covert 3.0 or the new dlc mp6 cams

The 3.0 is small and has great battery life and fast trigger speeds. I see them all the time 80-110 bucks to your door. Works great in cold weather I would put them against cams costing twice that much. love mine

I like the edge8.1 for some nice pics also like my ca3.0 and the mp6 would prob'ly be my next commercial cam purchase(but I like homebrews)...but check out spypoint ir-5 as well - these are good cams too and seem a little more cold(below 25F) tolerant. My wgi W6X cams have been great but we'll see about the durability yet - wgi doesn't have a good track record on that.

i wasnt being sarcastic ultramax. this has helped a lot so far. ive been looking at a lot of cams the past few days with everyones responses. still a little overwhelming because there seems to be so many. im pretty handy so ive even looked into "homebrews." they seem like they would be a lot of fun but alot of work and by the time you are done you could have 200+ bucks wrapped up in it if you buy a decent camera. right now im leaning towards the dlc. where did you get yours?

The 3.0 cams came from wing supply about 80.00 to my door each, I really like the dlc that are coming out soon they are getting great reviews on chasingame web site. This is my next cam,and then the black 60 by the same company.
