What bow string should I get for my Mathews Z7? I haven't replaced my string ever and I don't know much about string. I read something about vapor trails being better then zebra strings but I don't know. Thanks

Stay clear of the Zebra strings, the ones I have seen aren't the best workmanship or quality.

Some strings that I would recommend either because I used them or I have installed them/tuned them.
Brethen (on At and addix), Xfire(Bart Shortall) 60x, Proline, Vapotrail. Ex-Wolverine

these guys below come highly recommended as well.
Hutch and Sons ...you can find him very easy on this site.

I have had great luck with the last 3 Mathews strings I have. My Z7Xtreme has over 6000 shots and no issues. Shot is 25 times, set it to spec and tuned it and is amazingly still good. My HeliM has about 8000 shots on in and I retuned it once. I can't see how it could be better than that. My next sting will definitely be the new Mathews Trophy. I have had 6 Mathews bows and never had factory string issues.

I would go with Vapor Trails.

60X Custom Strings. I have them on my PSE and love them. Great quality and great customer service. They can do a ton of custom colors and combinations.

I would got with Hutch on here...Bowstring Depot. Zebra's quality isn't much IMO. Also, Brethn on AT makes great strings...but the turn around time is slow. The last Vaportrail I used wasn't what I expected. It's like a bow...everyone has a brand they like...lol. For me...Hutch~n~Son archery on here....PM him. I think you will be very impressed. If not him...what trial 153 said...Brethn is good but the wait is too long for me...lol. I like Bowstring Depot aka Hutch. Turn around is fast...customer service is second to none. Also, if you have any questions...he can and will help you.

Between the two you ask about. Vapor Trail any day over Zebra.

I'd definitely look into a set from Ray knight. Quality threads. If you are looking for a nice set for a very reasonable price check out advanced bowstrings. That's what I have on both of my current bows and they are great.

I use firststring. I've had great experiences with them. Also, they're made close to my shop so i can get them the next day sometimes.

I recently put on a new set of Korbin's Bow Strings and am very pleased with them. They actually seemed to settle in with minimal shooting (10 or so shots). Great people to deal with also.

His strings are placed over night at a tension of 600lbs. Thus, they need no breaking in. He's made them for my Monster and Apex7. He's running a special starting February 1st.

Remember, with all Mathews bow's, there should not be serving on the loop ends of the cable where they loop over the plastic ends that are attached to the pins that hold the solo cam on. they could crack the plastic or what ever it's made out of.
