I was looking at getting the Goldtip XT-Hunters 5575 as the best mid ranged for Gold Tip Arrows. But then I came across the Harvest Time HT-1's and HT-2's. Between these 3 which is a better arrow for the price? I am shooting a Diamond Razor Edge with a 28" draw and draw weight of 50-60#. Also I will mainly be hunting hogs and deer so Im not sure if this would make any difference.
If you're are stacking up the most comparable arrow to a Gold Tip XT, it'd be the Harvester-2 with the .003 tolerance. From what I've seen, they are just a touch more expensive. I've had great luck with recommending the XT as a hunting shaft. It's a great blend of value and price.
I used to shoot the Golt Tip XTs exclusively but switched over to Victory V-1s and love them... almost the same arrow (same machines basically used to make both shafts) but less expensive.
I've shot the XT Hunters exclusively in my short bowhunting career (going into my 3rd season this year). I've found them to be extremely durable having tagged out on trees each of the past two seasons without a broken shaft.
I've used Gold Tip XT's for 3 years now for hunting. No Complaints... Except don't use them for 3-D it will take 2 people to pull them.... Don't have any experience with the Harvest Time Arrows, but see alot of them used for sale on another site.....
I used the GT Pro Hunters for years. I've now made the switch to Harvest Time and shooting their target HT3 shafts great arrow.
I've had awsome luck with the Victory V-350's in the .003 straightness , when i build my arrows and customers arrows i always cut to length by cutting off both ends , it helps bring the straightness tollerance down from advertised , i have bought 2 dozzen Harvesters HT-2's in the 350 spine as well for my own personal use and after cutting them to length i had 9 that spin tested to specs out of both dozzens , my spin tester and dial indicator doesnt lie , i use them for my flinging arrows all of them , squirells , rabbits , groundhogs ect ect .
I've used the GT XT's for years and they are an awesome arrow. I since switched to the Pro Hunter shafts. I would not hesitate to shoot the XT's again. In fact, I have about a half dozen that still won't die after all these years. As Hoosier Daddy stated, cutting from both ends on ANY carbon arrow is key. I've taken the XT's and cut them like this and most of them came within tolerances of the Pro Hunter shafts. The "run out" on carbon shafts are always on the ends.
