I've also heard that Block archery targets are exceptionally good and can withstand a real beating, especially from broad heads.
Well, not according to our field tests. The Block Black held up the worst out of all the targets. The Block Classic did not seem to be doing too bad initially, but once the insides started to come out, it was going down hill fast too. The Block targets in our opinion were the ones that would fall apart the fastest.
I have had the Block classic for about five years. Yes the same one. I only use it to shoot my broadheads into. I did the "restacking" thing a while back. The target still stops arrows but doesn't look good at all. I should say I only shoot at 60 pounds. Sent from my LGL55C using Tapatalk 2
Yeah, I think that those Block Classics will last a heck of a long time using broadheads if you cut the straps and rearrange the layers. They will probably last forever if you only shoot field points into it.
I am going to have to lay the Block target to rest. It has spent to much time outside in the sun. Foam is starting to break down. My wife thinks I am just to lazy to put it in the garage, but I think I just want a new target
For field points any target is as good as the next. For broadheads I usually use the sand pit at our archery range.
I'm about to buy a Rinehart target actually so I can start practicing with my broad heads Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
Ive ran into the same problem haha. Let 'er baked in the sun for too long. Foam is becoming brittle. May be time for a new one...until then ill keep shootin at it
Rinehart targets are the best ones Ive come across. The new 18-1 I bought is ridiculously nice. I dont think Ill be able to wear it out in a year's time. Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
Well that's good news because I'm pumped to start shooting arrows into mine Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
Cabelas has a new target out that is made by Rhineheart. You may want to take a look at it. http://www.cabelas.com/product/Cabe.../1356786.uts?WTz_l=Header;Search-All+Products
Just bought the Rhinehart RhinoBrute on Sunday and am putting it to work today. As I was walking out of Bass pro on Sunday an elk hunter made sure to stop me and tell me that it was a great investment. He said he had his Brute for 2 years now and hasn't come close to wearing it out. That was good to hear since I just dropped $110 on it, haha. I really like the weight of the RhinoBrute, and it has a self healing exterior and interior. Seems like a quality made product that i dont have to worry about compared to a foam target or black block
