I'm tempering my expectations a bit. It was against Indiana State, or as I saw yesterday, Indiana's Taint University.

Either way, 73 points is a lot of points no matter who you are playing.

I knew they would be better, but that was a lot better than I thought they would do. I would have been happy with them simply covering the 24 point spread and keeping Bell in check.

We'll see what they do against Navy next week. If the offense is clicking again, I think Navy doesn't have the horses to keep up, but if Navy gets their running attack going and can keep IU's offense off the field it could be another nail biter.

The real question is, where is sycamoretwitch?

    Present.

Uhhh shall I make excuses for last night? I will spare anyone who wastes time to read this thread, we are talking about football in a basketball state - no one is reading this thread.

I was at the game and IU is improved. They have a couple solid options at QB and nice WR/TE combo which made for very difficult match-up for my Sycamore.

But what the box score doesn't show is that Indiana State turned it over inside our own 40 3 times in the first half, IU was plus 21 on those TO's. If a 1AA football team is going to beat a D1 you can't make those mistakes or you will get exposed. We were exposed all night.

Didn't help that All World Running Back Shakir Bell went down in first half with seperated shoulder. He had 113 rushing in the first half - losing him hurt but it was all an afterthought.

Congrats and good luck in the B10.

Hey I have been saying IU will be a good team all off season claiming they will go to a bowl game. It is apparent they have very good offensive skill players. Wynn is dynamic, to bad he took that cheap shot. He was a baller in High School here in Ohio at the Glennville Academy.

Their season will be defined by shootouts, how many they win obviously determines how good of a season they have.

That kid that made that hit on Wynn was a Frosh, he didn't mean to take him out - whats done is done, he did and got tossed as he should of.

At 45-7 the IU Center got tossed for throwing a punch, notice your not talking about that. You can come on here and have an opinion - but don't talk about one cheap shot without talking about a more blatent less classy cheap shot.

I take it you missed the late hit out of bounds on IU's QB (which wasn't called) that led to IU's center throwing the punch?

I don't think anything about what the ISU player didn't was less blatant or more classy.

Fair enough, I'm not going to sit here and discuss which player was more or less classy, both were tossed you beat our a$$, sorry I weighed one players actions over anothers.

Let the record show that I did miss the late hit. Although not sure that justifys a punch being thrown, but I will let you be the judge of that.

I am not an IU fan. I was only stating my thoughts. I did not watch the game only the highlights on the B1G network.

I like Wynn. I thought he was going to get an OSU offer but it never came. I like to see "local" boys do good even if they play for different schools.

What about Buckeye (your name) do you think I don't undedstand?!? I know your not an IU fan, you posted about a "cheap shot", I posted about another - that didn't make the highlights and theirfor was also just stating my opinon.

For what its worth, former Buck and #1 draft pick Greg Oden a personal friend of mine who was raised (not born) in Terre Haute - grew up as friends and still friends today. Never made it to Columbus to a game - but was at the Bucks game vs. Purdue after the death of our best friend who was a Frosh at Ball State. So I have no issue with Ohio State fans.

The hit on Wynn was dirty no matter how you look at it. The guy was calling for a fair catch and got blown up by the ISU player. Freshman or not he should know that you ease up on a guy calling for a fair catch in case he misplays the ball. The way he went in looked like he was head hunting to me.

I read that the kid wasn't in on Wynn's punt return for a TD, which seems fishy to me. Your punt unit gets torched, so the next time you trot out a guy who just happens to run down and try to knock off a guy's head, that just doesn't add up.

Once again I am not here to defends the kids actions. If you want to suggest ill intent then I am not going to sit here and try and change your mind on this. I was standing [IMG] on the sidelines even with the play and I didn't see him call a fair catch - I'd honestly have to go back and watch the play. It was a brutal hit and he paid (Sycamore player) the price for it. Sorry that happened - I'm not going to defend it.

I don't know the kid but both player and coach say it wasn't done on purpose - you either take that for face value or you don't. Clearly you are not and I understand, that is perfectly fine by me. As a Sycamore fan, obviously I don't think it was on purpose.

Of course you don't have a problem with OSU fans... Only haters and kuncklehead UM fans do.

Hope to see Oden's comeback work out for him.
