I ordered a new Hoyt Spyder 30 on Jan. 22. The shop owner told me they would have it in about 10 days to two weeks. Now 5 weeks later I still don't have my bow, and I've called him three times and he says, "No, its not in yet, we'll give you a call." Anyone else had this problem on a new hoyt lately?
Something is definitely wrong. Is he getting any Hoyt's in at all? If not he probably owes Hoyt money and they suspended shipping to him. Did you put a deposit down or pay for it? Sent from my DROID X2 using Tapatalk 2
I am going through the same thing with my PSE ordered it Jan. 8th and still dont have it. I called PSE them self about a week and half ago and they where just sending out orders from early December. If you are trying to get a specific one the manufatures have such a high demand right now they cant keep up. Sounds to me like you are running into the same problem. I would call Hoyt them selfs and see if thats the case
Its a small shop, the shop we had here in town closed up this past summer so I started going there and I like the guy, but something does seem wrong. The last time I called I asked if they were just running behind on orders or what, and he said that they were, but I think he was just putting me off. I haven't put any money down on it yet, so i could drive another 60 miles and pick up the one that they have in stock. I just wanted to do business with this guy, cause I liked his shop. I am kinda wondering about the theory that he may owe them money. It sucks, cause I wanted to get it dialed in before the April 1 turkey opener.
Tell him you are going to take your business elsewhere. I have seen plenty at a few different shops. Sounds like it's his issue not a manufacture back up. I would find a more reliable shop if I were in your situation; that is if you haven't paid for it.
Then call and tell him you will give him till Tuesday to get back to you with the truth of whats happening and a solid delivery date or you will take your business 60 miles up the road! Sent from my DROID X2 using Tapatalk 2
Call Hoyt. I would be willing to bet they will help you understand what is going on. It may tick the shop owner off but, hey if you already paid and he isn't delivering who cares right? Just mention next time you talk to him will call Hoyt so he doesn't have to take the time and see what he says. I called Prime once about a part I needed that was a warranty issue. The lady simply told me they were having problems with their system and would call me back. My pro shop called me five minutes after she hung up asking me if I called. I told the owners wife yes I did. I also told her why. I had the part 2 days later.
If it's a small shop and he orders just one or two bows from Hoyt at a time, he is probably not a priority. They will fill the orders on all the big shops that move a lot of bows first. This will hold things up. If you haven't paid anything, tell him that you're going to buy it elsewhere if you're in a hurry. I would.
Custom orders often take much longer to arrive than the manufacturer tells the shop, and Hoyt is notorious for this. It's just as frustrating to the pro shop as it is to the customer. This happened to me more times than I can remember; order a custom bow for a customer, hoyt (or another manufacturer) says it'll be there in two weeks, and five weeks later the customer is calling and *****ing me out everyday. My bet is that this is out of your pro shop's hands...it sucks but try to be patient.
Doesn't sound like it was a custom order if he can go 60 miles down the road and pick one up tomorrow. Sent from my DROID X2 using Tapatalk 2
id get my money back and go to a shop that has them in stock....even if i had to drive a couple hours...both fin feather, and fur...and all american outdoors(the two shops i use) have them in stock now...and fin has already sold a couple hundred of them
another thing i dont get, not just with hoyt...with ALL the big companies...they KNOW there is going to be a high demand, and they have the past(80+ years for hoyt) history KNOWING they are gonna be backed up....why dont they have a crap load of bows READY to ship on the release date...or just hold the release date back a couple months. then the wait would be no where as long as it is....i understand they dont know exactly how many they are going to sell, but im pretty sure that they have a dang good idea...but they also know they are gonna sell them either way, so they probably dont care if people have to wait.
I would cancel the order and go get it some where else. I hate when I'm told the expected time the weeks later still waiting all B.S. I know you like the place but situations like these make it a crappy situation.
I called him this morning, and he said that he had called hoyt yesterday and he was expecting them Monday or Tuesday. So we'll see what happens early in the week. If it isn't there by then, I will probably call Hoyt, and then just go somewhere else.
