This thread is dedicated to anyone who wishes to throw up a picture of their bone and tell us all where you found it. Maybe a cut bean field.. a bedding thicket.. or your moms house. We want to know... could be a neat learning tool! Please post pics along with your finds! Good luck!
This 4 point shed I found just inside the timber in a staging area to a corn field! This 9 point match set I found on the north end of a pond about 10 yards in timber in a bedding area. This 5 point antler I found just 5 yards off a creek crossing in a cow pasture.
This 4 point was found today, it is his right side, and he was leaving a golf course fairway going back to bed when it fell off. I was unable to find the other side today.
These are not from this season but educational in the where abouts I found them. Shed 1, big 5x side, found on a south facing slope in a thick patch of red stemmed ceanothus, after a hvy snow packed winter. Over 100 inches in the mountains. 3000 feet elevation. Shed 2, Prototypical deer trail to and from a thick bedding are of timber and brush to a south facing glade. Elevation 2000 feet, hvy snow packed winter. Shed 3. Big hvy 5 point shed caught in a branch next to a big elk rub, thick patch of red stemmed ceanothus on the north side of the mountain, 2500 feet. Low Snow Packed winter, average winter 40-50 inches. Shed 4. Old logging Skid trail, North face of mountain, burried in snow, kicked it up under my feet as I stepped on it, Belongs to a buck I later trailcamera'd and killed. This buck was an old deer, he had dropped early (probably dec) before the hvy snows had come and burried it.
i can not take part in this thread to much competition in my area for me to divulge any info to the where abouts of my hammers.......LOL.......SORRY DUKE........
Shed Head I promise I will only be there 362 days out of the year and leave you a couple by yourself! HE HE HE
My favorite shed hunting location is any river bottom that meets up with crop fields. Just make sure you get down there before the river bottom has it's spring flooding. Good luck. P.S. Try to go on overcast or really cloudy days after a light rain.
