Someone mentioned Michigan. You would not want to come here. In spite of what you may have heard, there are hardly any deer in Michigan. Even if there were, the brush is so heavy that you probably wouldn't be able to see them.

Also, it rains all the time. And the deer only come out, as few as there are, only when it's raining most heavily. Also, with all the rain, Michigan is mostly swamp.

It also gets sort of cold here. It's nine degrees as I type this. And it snows a lot too. We usually get about four to five feet of snow each Winter where I am in Southern Lower Michigan. And some places get more. For example, they get 27 to 28 feet up in the Keweenaw.

If you're into skinnydipping though, it's popular up on the U.P. (Upper Peninsula) But the water is sort of chilly. Even in the Summer, but then there are the mosquitoes, three or four of which can make a full meal for a family of four.

Okay, as I said, you won't want to come here. It's just terrible. You should go to Texas. They have everything there.

Anywhere but the South, honestly. I liked Chicagoland, but not enough to want to live there for an extended period of time. I like where I grew up in the Appalachians pretty well too, and wouldn't mind setting up shop there for an extended period of time. I do not like Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina, however. Or the South in general. Too hot, no winter, small animals, twisted people, etc. The South is a nice place to vacation, but not where I want to live.

Like everyone else mentioned, I would love to live in Montana or the Black Hills out West. It fits my personality and lifestyle very well, but I am not sure I would enjoy being 30+hours from my family.

I'd just like to have enough land to make my efforts really matter. I'm fine with PA, I'd just like some more land. The summer's are only hot for 3-4 weeks, winter is completely tolerable with the right toys, and Oct/November is perfect.

Probably no gas rights, may be obtainable. Let's go look at it.

    Seriously.

Unless some commitments tie me down along the way (Read: a baby shows up somewhere)....I'll be moving to Anchorage to live in the true great outdoors for a few years while still young. Pharmacists make nearly double up north and after a year or two I could claim residency to hunt brown bear, grizzlies, black bears, dall sheep, mountain goat, blacktail deer, elk, moose, musk ox, bison..... You guys can keep your whitetails, that's for the birds!

No that was the look of... WTF ?? Then there was the skeeter spraying incident. Tyler and I still get the giggles over that one. Word of warning... if you have skeeters and troy is a visiting. Stock up on the big cans of skeeter spray by the case !!! No skeeter is getting within a mile of Troy by the time he gets done spraying himself down !!!!

You've got to send me that footage of the big buck on the last morning on your first visit ( summer scouting ) !!!

It was just barely light enough to see. We got trapped in a bad spot when I spotted a big buck. The buck is walking our way. Troy is trying the film while having a fit about the skeeters. I am spraying him down with bug dope. I mean... I am dowsing him down big time. I whisper, " is that enough ??" . Troy, " No I need more !!!!" . So I dowse him some more !!!! Poor Tyler is getting blasted since he is right down wind of Troy. He is choking it is so bad but giggling at the same time having a flash back to the first night Troy was here dowsing himself down with bug spray. I am ssshhushing Tyler so he doesn't scare the buck away. What a flipping fiasco !!

    Tim
