I hear you, and don't blame you one bit! I get a case of the ass every time I go to the store here.
Kentucky has some awesome bowfishing, deer, turkeys, and small game. Texas is in hock to the tune of 25 Billion.

Ha Dan. I lived just a mile from the Manitoba border. The border was just marked by those little cement obelisks. When some of my friends from high school came to visit we had an international snowball fight. We also played international frisbee. :)

(of course, I would never cross the border anywhere beside the designated crossing areas...)

I was only up der for two years. I did start to talk a bit funny tho', don'cha know? :D

When ?? I spent two year there going to college in the early 80's. Great deer hunting, snowshoe rabbits and ruffed grouse.

Shot this buck with bow when I was there...

Missouri has it all. Tons of public land, great lakes, rivers and streams. The northern part of the state (North of the Missouri river) has more farmland than the south which equates to larger deer and deer population. The southern portion, however, has the better fishing with Table Rock, Lake Taneycomo, Truman Lake and the Ozarks. I love Missouri and will will find it very tough to ever leave this state.

I went to college there in the late 80's. Go Lumberjacks! :)

    Nice buck!

I didn't really deer hunt up there... but I did do in lots of hares, rabbits, muskrats and grouse. The grouse are dumb as hammers up there... but tasty! I did draw a turkey tag and got my first (and so far, my only) turkey up there.

Yeah!! Caught my first one up there. Using a nightcrawler and a marshmellow.
I caught lots of perch out of Metigoshe (can't remember how to spell it) too.

Did they have the archery range up there while you were there? A guy named Gordon and his wife Rose were the ones that got me back into archery. (I shot bows when I was younger but quit when I moved closer to Chicago) They had shoot called the Turtle Mountain Tick Shoot.

When I hunted in Schuyler Co a couple seasons ago it was one of the worst dumps I have ever seen.........dirt poor is a step up from that place.

Wouldn't live in that part of Illinois for free.........nice hunting grounds that's for sure. Not even close to being worth living in that hell hole the rest of the year though.

Rahm will straighten out Chi-town and you guys will be all set ;)

Get out while you can. Cross NY off your list.....high taxes, Medicaid nanny state, and our deer look like Chiuaua puppies compared to what you see out there.

Not sure where I would move. I like PA...to an extent. If I moved, it would be to somewhere with a more mild year round climate while still having good fishing, and decent hunting. Most likely SC or NC.

Ill vote KY for ya. plenty of hunting grounds, you would still be close to Illinois for the Bow fishing, still be fairly close to Momma, BUT you would pick up an accent and be running around bare footed and possably pregnant:sheep: Sorry Gri22, couldnt resist :D. OH, you would be closer to KY lake to ;) WHAT, NO LOVE FOR THE HOOSIER STATE, ITS EVEN BETTER :D

I vote we we turn ILL into a national hunting perserve. Everyone has to leave ILL now.

Atlas and I are in charge who gets to hunt and where. So, we must hunt every county first so we know where is the best hunting ground. This will take us like 50 years.

Germ you really don't want to send most of the Illinois politicians anywhere else. They'll just infect the rest of the country. Can you imagine how bad it would be if a Chicago politician ever got into the White Hou...
    Aw crap.

'Crick, KY is definately a strong possibility. Elk, great fishing, closer to good hog hunting and even better fishing.
    The search continues...

KY seems to have it all. KY is a state I have discussed moving to one day, Maybe the WNW region of the state.

I will say I enjoyed the time I spent in Oklahoma with Da-Crew.
