Funny how siblings can be so different. Give me a nice house on a river in Montana, North Dakota, or any other American state that offers a vast outdoor experience and I would be happy. Well my brother is moving from Shangai China to DUBAI in August. I just couldn't live in a place like that...ever. You guys ever live in any exotic/crazy spots?

My mom is in Dubai right now.

She called me Monday and said "Hey, I'm going to Dubai tomorrow!" She's like that. (she's 76 years old too)

She's not going to live there tho'. :)

I wouldn't want to live in Dubai.... but I hear it's pretty cool.

Yeah, my mom is riot. She makes me look rather tame.

She went to Vietnam (and Japan) earlier this year. She sent me pictures in an email from the first couple days of her trip.

There were the normal photos. The hotel, Ho Chi Minh mausoleum, fruit markets.. etc...

    and then this..

    ....

This is So my mom. :D

my brother just moved back from Qatar. He lived their for 2 1/2 years. He didn't mind it, traveled all over the place from their and made and saved some good money. We are happy to have him home though.

Never been anywhere as exotic as DuBai. I was born in England and lived in Spain for six years. Great memories but would not trade the US for anything.

I could do it for say 10 years.. then come back to the states and buy the hunting property I always wanted! There would have to be an end goal.

Sure I've lived in Exotic places. I lived in the orient for 2 year..Vietnam. LOL
Hey, I also lived in Hawaii for 14 months. I was happy to leave the place... I got island bound. The move to Vietnam was a welcomed thing. LOL OK, maybe not so welcome... but the point is... it could be worse. He could be moving to Pittsburg or New Jersey. LOL

David, my dad spent a few tours in Vietnam as well. I believe he went to boot camp in 69 and headed off to Vietnam in 1970. He was in the USMC. I know you sometimes make light of your service in Vietnam, but I want to thank you for your commitment to our country, and for all of the hardwork and discipline you employed to stay alive/protect others.

I also lived in Hawaii growing up for three years. My dad was stationed at Camp Smith.

Can't imagine life any other way than it is now. Hearing someone talk about South Africa this past week, made my mind work though.

I have a college buddy in Qatar right now. He works for Exxon and is making bank. He has been living there for over 4 years now. He keeps re-signing up for the year contract. He seems to love it.

4 years ago, I would have moved anywhere in the world given the opportunity.

I've seen my fair share of Europe/overseas fluff........I tell ya, there's nothing better than corn fields, wildlife, small towns with 2 stop lights, a rising western sun on the porch in the country, and a little bit of chicken fried!

Wouldn't live any where else than where the green grass grows.
