Yesterday I got permission to hunt my neighbors creek bottom. I scouted it early today and found several possible sets. Then at the confluence of 3 trails I found this. [IMG].
It's a huge multi trunk hackberry just 9 yards north of the main trail. Limbs to hide behind and quartering away shots in both directions. I think I'm going to like my new spot!

I am looking forward to it. The silly thing is I could have hunted it for the past 10 years but mistakenly believed it belonged to the next farm and was leased. I only discovered it by looking at county property lines online. I guess I need to pay more attention! It's only about 5 acres but connects 2 big cornfields.

    Sweet.

I hunt multiple properties and some of them are large acreage, but without a doubt my most productive spot over the years is a narrow shelter belt not a1/4 of a mile long....but it is travel route from bedding to ag fields.
