That sounds almost as bad as Michigan. There's no game here either and even if there were, it rains all the time and it's so damp that your gun would rust up before you could get off a shot.

    :sheep:
And unlike Wyoming, the sheep here are frigid

What about NY/VT? Tons of game a large abundance of fish, the huge state parks, bear hunting, trapping, bobcat, lynx and many other "trophy" animals are abundant here.

I live in MA and envy the deer herd in CT. However I kill it fishing and turkey hunting in MA. Not a lot of outdoorsy people around here but it makes it that much easier to hunt public land.

I have to laugh. New York and Vermont. Really. Yes I will admit there are lots of open space in New York particularly, which surprises some I guess, Vermont actually doesnt have much game and hunting area. Its a small state. But the game is you have to live in a the state. That means you would have to actually live in New York. By next year will you will have to throw rocks at game animals. Not to mention despite all the hard working honest residents of New York, they seem to be governed by about 700 dysfunctional liberals that congregate in Albany. Then you have the bulkhead of non freedom loving, liberal nuts in NYC that seem to set policies for the whole state. Banning sodas and access to the second is just the start.

You don't scare me... I've lived in Illinois for 40 years. ;)

But it's looking more like Utah might be our destination instead.

Someone understands my pain. If living close by to family wasn't such a priority to me, I wouldn't be a resident here anymore.

I personally want to head a bit more south. But I hate the thought of 100 degree days. Not that we dont have them in PA, just much more rare. But I like the idea of longer fishing seasons, hogs year round, decent enough deer hunting, still has turkey was waterfowl if I ever get into hunting them. Maybe gators if I go to the right place. Not sure exactly where I would like to go...FL, GA, LA, SC, AL....something along those lines. Hunting cool things like elk and sheep sound awesome, but in reality hunting season is only a few months long no matter where you are. Since I dont really snowboard much anymore, I want to find a place that I can fish almost all year when hunting is closed. And when I get the itch to go test out the bow, I can go look for a hog.

Move to North Carolina. I just spent this past weekend skiing up at Snowshoe. Snowed all weekend had powder turns all weeekend. Although most of my ski trips involve a plane ride out west. Have about 10 days on the snow already, in WV and Utah. Headed to Aspen for April. Did I mention I had urban archery most of January and half of February. Plus I own a guide service. 10,000 acres one hour south of a large city. We hunt hogs years round. Check us out www.leatherheadoutdoors.com. I should also mention its going to be about 70 tomorrow. It really is nice in the Carolina's. Not too hot like living in Florida, not too cold like Wisconsin. We tend to keep our liberals in check confined to Raleigh and Charlotte and we have the second highest amount of people per capita living in rural areas. Mountains to the West and Beaches to the East. Just a nice place to live.

After my last conversation with Dubbya I think I might start looking for property in his area, plenty of game to hunt and minimal gun laws.

Idaho or Wyoming. These two states would have everything I need to enjoy life.
