Went to a place last night that has 4 trail cams that have been real active since August. After sitting in the stand all evening and seeing a doe with 2 yearlings and a little 4 pointer, got down and pulled the trail cams. Other than last night, none of the cameras had a single picture since 11/11. No one has hunted this parcel since 11/18 and the time before that was 11/1. Seems a little strange...:( This AM sat in the killing stand and saw the usual 3 bucks 500 yards away and a passle of does in the same area as the bucks. If the winds are right, will sit in the creek bottom stand (where I headed the day I locked the keys in the truck w/bow inside).

Actually, they're probably hanging out in the 2000+ acres of standing corn.

Could easily be. Another thing too Is I think the rut has settled down for a bit until the girls come Into estrus again. My sightings too have taken a big hit. They should pick back up though when they start coming back Into estrus.

Ding, Ding, Ding, we have a winner. They know we can't hunt them in there so that's where they are living.

You just saw more deer than i have all season so I had to laugh hard on this post.

Is it possible that they are just grouped a bit tighter now. Just missing the cameras?

if you have standing corn that's where they are at. we still have about fifty acres standing. and it is full of deer.the rest of the 325 acres have dried up, a few tracks but no daylight movement get over to the corn and boom the tracks from the woods to the corn is unreal.
ill be back at it sunday

Went to the stand and had a 1 1/2 yo 10 pt walk by. A little later, spike buck. Pulled the last trail cam on that property and got a pic of the ugliest "rob buck" I've ever seen! If he would have walked by, I would have shot!

I do believe he is. Under developed legs, no belly, antlers were real thin. He was also small. The spike buck that walked by right after him was just as big body wise.

Personally, I think he's butt ugly, but thats just my opinion. I'd have trouble justifying having him mounted.:( But, if you hurry, I can put you in a stand where you'll have a shot at him!:D

same here - I have just over 15 sits since Oct - have seen a total of THREE DEER. Two back in early Nov and one today.

After having just about everything that could go wrong, go wrong, get caught, get tangled, make me sweat... I sat in my stand about 30 min's after I wanted to be in.

As I was kind of spacing out - a small yearling doe snuck up on me... Came in, nose in the air and stared at me. Didn't move, she did it two more times and then kind of shrugged and walked off, never offering me a chance to draw.

I am starting to think I just suck at finding deer.

Going back out with my son to the same place tonight.

Actually, ive been seeing less and less deer on my trail cameras as well. I had my cuddeback out for over a week on a mock scrape by a bedding area and got ZERO pictures of deer.

My eyes must be getting bad. All I see are backstraps wrapped in bacon and sprinkled w/fajita seasoning, deer sticks, and jerky....;)

    Good job.
