Just tuning in to the latest BHOD episode with Todd and Justin talking about Justin's 43rd birthday really got my thinking, where the h*ll has time gone? I remember tuning into the BHOD program back in 2013/2014 while sitting in high school English class. Obviously I didn't care too much about school, I'd rather have been in the woods. Geez, I thought you guys were old and wise back then....now I'm creeping up on that same age. Always nice to go back and watch the first few seasons once in a while. Anyways, I wish you guys many more years of success with the BHOD program and may we all have a safe and successful hunting season this year!
when I came here from Huntingnet.com like a lot of us in 2009 I was 34 yrs old. I am now 48! it flies
my wife asked me yesterday if we still qualified as "young couples" for an activity coming up at church. I sadly said, once there is a'4' at the beginning of one of our ages, the answer is NO I thought the best part of the recent BHOD episode during the banter was that Justin got an email asking about tuning a 650 grain arrow. Now a lot of us, including myself talk about different arrows/flight/tuning etc. but the 650 was just a fairy too far for Justin. 2024 Justin will be shooting a Sonic 340 which is 7.8 GPI with standard inserts - he'll be around 390 total grains to melt the internet
Kids are the fastest matrix in which to gauge age. I swear I was holding my daughter yesterday and today she lives 600 miles away Sent from my Pixel 6 using Tapatalk
I can relate. I can't believe my oldest daughter (800 miles away) will be 24 in October. If I go outside, cup of coffee in hand, starting my day and look over at the mountain range near by, I can see 50 years old. How?
My wife and I had our first child this year and the concept of time just doesn't feel the same as it used to when I was young and dumb.
I just set up some Sonic 340s with 75 grains of brass up front for my brother-in-law. He's shooting my old Mathews Chill at 28"/64 lbs and a small fixed blade head. He's going to blow that 430 grains of carbon through some 1.5-year-old bucks this fall and love every minute of it.
And yeah, time sure does fly when you're having fun! The older you get, the quicker is seems to go. I'm trying to slow down and enjoy the little things and moments as much as possible. While I may complain about having to run my kids around to sports every night and how it eats into my hunting & fishing time, I'm secretly loving every minute of it and wishing it would never end. And when I put my kids to sleep at night I hug them a little longer than usual because I know in a day not too far away they won't want to be in the same room as me, let alone strangle me with a bear hug before bed. Enjoy it while you can, friends! The good days don't last forever.
Years ago, didnt matter if it was 100* above or _ 30* below. If I could, I'd be hunting. Boy how things have changed. Now, I don't even buy my license till a month after season opens.
Hard to believe I joined the "old sight" back in high school or right out of it.. I graduated in 2002!
