Hey guys this is my second year hunting at all, as well as my second year bow hunting. The plot of land I hunt is roughly 55 acres because a good friend of a good friend is letting me hunt there before he turns it into what I would describe as an awesome big boy playground for the Wounded Warriors Project. The corn field was harvested last week but the neighbors have the high ground and roughly a hundred to two hundred acres of beans that kind of hurts my hunting of the field as deer tend to not want to make the trip though their field to ours. Where on this property would you hang a stand if you only had one to hang?
Looks like maybe a fairly steep drop off from the field down to the pond? I would. Heck for a trail between that field and the pond. If there is a flat shelf there, there will be a deer trail.
Late but I am a new member so I apologize. The first thing I would do is find the heaviest road crossings. That will give you an idea of general movement on the property. Then I would work my way from the outside in and also try to determine bedding area, if there is a consistent bedding area on the property. The rest is just a chess match. Good luck!
