That tape does look like a great idea. Where did you get it from? Could use if for whatever.. haaha even the dog..
I picked it up at BPS. I like form tape, because it is not sticky and only adheres to itself. No sticky residue left on anything.
Stretchy lanyard that I zip into my chest pocket. Hangs down just far enough to get to eye level. I don't have to worry about dropping the unit with this setup, and has never been in the way for shooting.
Around my neck when I am hunting a new place. Hanging on my bow holder while in the tree at my Primary hunting place.
My bow hanger has 2 small hooks on it besides the main bow hook. I usually hang it on there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
On my Muddy harness. It has built in bino straps so I just use one side for my rangefinder since I don't carry binos whitetail hunting.
I, being right handed, have sewed a gear keeper retractable device on my right shoulder strap that has my range finder clipped to it. That way I can grab it, use it and let it hang out of my way. It works very well without noise and with minimal movement.
I had a contact build me essentially a paracord duck call lanyard but instead of a bunch of loops for duck calls I have one that hangs low in the middle for the rangefinder and a small one to the side for my grunt tube. It's been a pretty slick system so far this year.
Right now I wear a HSS vest style harness that is a couple of years old. It has 1 adjustable elastic strap on both sides of the chest, each with a clip, above all of the pockets. It was designed to be like the binocular harnesses you can buy. I just clip it to the right side strap. Then while I'm walking in/out i tuck it inside the chest of the vest. VERY limited movement to grab it, range quickly with bow in hand, then prepare to shoot. It's actually possible to range with my wrist strap release clipped to the d-loop.
Keep mine on a lanyard around my neck, then shove it in my coat pocket (high up on my chest) easy access, stays out of the way, and if I drop it on accident its not going anywhere due to the lanyard!
Took some para cord and made a small loop on my range finder and looped it to the strap of my bino harness. That way there both always with me and quick to get to. Kilboars Hunt Club
my jackets and shirts all have two pockets on either side of the zipper at chest level that appear to be designed to hold a range finder and they work perfectly.
