Title says it all. Im new to bowfishing and want to jump in and get a bow set up. My buddies are on my case to get started so I can join em fishing this summer. Would I have to buy a bow made "specifically for bowfishing"? Or could I get my old bow setup for this?? Probably some dumb questions here with simple answers, but im a newb at this one. :D

You can probably make your bow work for bowfishing, but you will need some arrows and a retriever of some sort. Check out this website and poke around a little. Lots of good info on there if you look around some.

I bought a PSE Kingfisher recurve and an AMS retriever reel, and I have been happy with it. Pretty cheap way to get into bowfishing without spending tons of money and still having quality stuff.
