So my Canon G40's mic port stopped working recently. I brought it to the local camera shop and they said they won't fix it for me. Just looking for some info on who/where to send it?
I would contact Canon directly. Here's a link to their Service & Repair. https://www.usa.canon.com/internet/portal/us/home/support/service-repair/repair/
I had a good experience with Canon's CS when I had to send my 70D in. I wouldn't hesitate to send stuff their way again
Yep send to Canon. I smashed my LCD screen last season on mine and they were all over it for me. Your camera is new enough that you could likely get it covered under warranty.
You cannot go wrong with Canon's repair service. I had them repair a DSLR lens for me a couple years ago. Very fast turn around and no one knows how to repair their own equipment like Canon.
