Throughout deer season, it wasn't anything unusual to count 10-25 turkeys per hunt but recently while shed hunting and moving trail cams around, I haven't see much/if any fresh sign. I've checked all the areas where I saw them on numerous occasions in deer season as well as two different roost sights but I haven't seen the sign like I used to. Does anyone have any ideas of what might be happening? I'm thinking about putting out a bag of cracked corn this weekend and leaving a trail cam on it a week or two to see if anything shows up before the deer eat it all

Its not unusual to see animal activity differ during the winter months compared to spring, summer and fall. I know the cold temps/snow is what plays a big part up here. I don't know exactly how turkeys in NC are during winter months but I am guessing its fairly similar to what I experience up here. I am willing to bet your turkeys will be back.
