I honestly have thought about this more than I should. Working at a gun counter will do that to you. I think I would personally gather all my gear and begin heading south, thinking warmer yearly temps here. Once in an area I felt comfortable I would head into the hills as far as I could and fortify a position there.

Obviously along the way food would be a priority as well as drinking water. I would plan on stopping in several areas in order to loot/scavenge, etc. I am fairly set as of now on ammunition. I would have a means of survival.

If they find me out there then so be it. I'm going out blazing.

I would go ahead and kill my best friend and get it over with. All The Walking Dead fans on here know what I'm talking 'bout. :)

How far south? Why not north? The zombies would eventually freeze if you get far enough north. But then you would die of starvation.

How would you get south? Where south? The only hills in the south are in the desert...

How are you transporting all your gear?

I'd hunker down here. Like everything (technology, culture, mail) it would take a long time for those zombies to get up here. Their food sources would be in low density here as well.

I'll mostlikely have to fortify the front gate... too many people have said they'd come here if it hit the fan.

Rationale behind heading south was to avoid dealing with the hardships of a Northern Winter potentially shelter-less. I was thinking far enough south to get into the desert mountains of AZ. Now I am coming up with flaws. I need a tank for fuel. A big tank. I would simply haul all the gear in whichever rig I was in. preferably a larger SUV. I would take others with me.

I could survive where I am. However, I am in an area with too much population for my liking. I couldn't stand a chance. I could head further north, to my fathers house. There I could make a stance.

Not much water in AZ, and when you do find water, there will be people. Lots of people.

And how are you going to travel all the roads with all the cars blocking the way?

You literally just killed my plan. OK! Fresh start.

Heading to N. Idaho to set up base in my fathers house. Loads of wood for heat, water for drinking, and game for food/clothing/etc.. I will haul my gear in my pickup and will also be pulling a trailer with a few motorcycles incase of impassible roads.

The problem with going extremely remote is lack of areas to reload for supplies. Does you Dad's place have a garden?

Garden next to the house, and a lake full of trout within 200 yards. He does have chickens but I assume they will go quick.

I've always thought living on a yacht anchored off a major city would be the best option, until I read World War Z, and discovered that zombies can walk under water and climb anchors.

My plan is to head for the cabin (3 hours away by car) and make a go if it there.

Did I miss a movie or something? What in the hell is Z Day? If you're talking survival mode... well hell, in the spring summer and fall I hunker down here.. In the winter I go to sunny florida with all the snow birds and rip off old Jewish ladies. LOL Honestly, I think I'd hunker down in land and territory I know. It's wild and wolly country just slightly north of me. I 4 wheeled all over it Tuesday. BUT then when the snow flies I'm leaving a trail. Look, just hunker and trust no one. LOL

I'm gonna go kill all the people who bragged about how much food they have stashed waiting for z day. I am befriending them now, sort of a wolf in sheeps clothing thing. I'm not tring to survive the whole thing, just looting and pillaging all the way to the end...captain jack sparrow meets red dawn if you will
