Give me an example of a liberal getting fried in the media for something they said.

A known d-bag and definitely not his first "incident" with screwing up publicly. Not a great comparison but I see your point.

Bashir was fired off msnbc for his comments about Sarah palin.

But he said on his show and it took several weeks to respond

What? It was extremely apparent they were a Godly Christian family in the shows.

Ok, this was his second homophobic rant. What happened after the first one? Oh, he didn't loose his sponsors with Capital One and he got that show on MSNBC. So it took two rants that were way worse than what Phil said for him to feel any effects of his actions.

Yeah, it's not a great comparison because Baldwin was fired over comments to one guy, a guy that was annoying him, and he didn't do it on a national medium. Baldwin's acts were not near as bad.

Again, it took a lot of pressure for them to make that decisions. They would have been more than willing to sweep it under the rug, if it had not been for some consistent pressure from fox news and the likes to keep it out of the shadows.

And you think A&E would have fired Phil if it weren't from pressure?

Alec Baldwin and Charlie Sheen can not be used as examples. Find someone else.

He's suspended, not fired. They won't fire him, Phil will walk away long before it gets to that IMO.

A & E is cool with reaping the profits from the loyal following the show has which largely comes from people who have traditional christian, conservative, beliefs and can relate to the beliefs the family represents on the show. Phil answers a question honestly and in his response is not surprising and is in line with the beliefs shown on A & E yet they suspend him. That seems hypocritical to me.

They did it in an attempt to quiet a vocal minority instead of just saying something like "Phil's" beliefs are not necessarily the beliefs of A & E the network and kind of remaining neutral. Phil has no interest in being on the show and has said as much, I won't be surprised if he ops out at the next contract renewal. As a family they are worth nearly $100 million, they don't need A&E nearly as bad as A&E needs them right now. I agree with you though in that A&E is using this like a Chic-Fil-A incident and all the people rallying around Phil will inadvertently help the network. Well played A&E.
