Everyone is entitled to their own beliefs and opinions. I have no problem with him speaking his mind. But if he or their family has an issue with gays and blacks or any other background as a whole , then I have a problem with them and no desire to watch their show or support any of their products.

Remember, he was asked about his thoughts on sinners and homosexuality.

He paraphrased corinthians and if you had looked at this thread you would see excerpts I screen printed of the exact quotes.

I think the problem is that the ones complaining are insecure and have a problem with the bible.

That's their right but please take the time to understand that in Phil's heart, he knows he was saved from his sinful ways by Jesus Christ and feels it is his duty to spread the word.

You should probably just stop talking and atleast read the article and read the bible a bit. Phil himself doesn't judge or dislike gays- he said he will love them and treat them as equals, and will let god decide their fate in the end. You shouldn't even partake in this conversation without first reading the article and understanding the context in which everything was said.

 

If you don't believe it is about $ then you know little about the corp world. Damage to A&E's image will cost them $ due to the loss of viewers and advertisers. They have more to think about than just one show even though it's their most popular program. They had to take action to show that Phil's comments do not reflect the views of the network. Phil put them between a rock and a hard place.

So many taking his statements out of context in order to inflame others. This morning it is the Today Show on NBC.

 

Then tell them to accept the free gift! They don't have to pay for their sins ...it is what God said in His Bible...but again, it is not about a specific type of sin, it is sin in general.....if you want to nail it to one specific sin it would be someone rejecting Jesus paying the price for their sin and them paying for it instead ....

Let's say I bought someone a 1 ton pick up with all the fixins... they could never pay for a truck like that....I walk up to them and hand them the keys and give it to them for free....I worked for that money...I paid for the truck and I just want to give it to them...no strings .... if they won't take it, they rejected the free gift ....now think....

Because of sin (all have sinned) we can not achieve salvation ...the cleanest life ever lived could not reverse the separation sin has brought to mankind....Jesus left Heaven and lived the perfect life required topay for that sin debt... He NEVER sinned ...not once....he was brutalized and hung on a cross and then God the Father poured the sins of the world on His Son and "the Man who never sinned, BECAME sin FOR US"!!!!! He died (the punishment of sin is death) but He rose 3 days later beating deat

HE did the work! He paid the price! He presented the keys to forgiveness to all who will and some of us have accepted that it was ALL HIM! We can do NOTHING but accept those keys!! Thank you Jesus WOOOOOOHOOOOO!!!!!! Those of us that have accepted His free gift still sin, tho we do our best to live as he lived....our sins past, present, and future are under that blood of Calvary, forever making intercession for us

A&E - used their freedom of speech to tell Phil, we don't agree with your views.

It's really that simple, no one was censored, Phil can go anywhere and shout out his views, who's stopping him? What government agency is stopping him?

 

Yep. This is my entire argument. I don't understand the outrage. No one did anything really wrong. Phil said his views, which he has every right, and A&E, as his employer, didn't like what he said in a public medium, and told him to take a timeout. It happens ALL the time in business.

The Duck Dynasty fans are the ones that are causing this to stay in the media. If they did not create this outrage, this "story" would not have lasted more than a day. Now the media has seen the outrage, so they are going to keep sensationalizing this to keep the outrage going. Outrage = $$$$ for everyone.
