And yeah, i would have no problem with someone quoting the koran to justify their belief system. As long as they didn't expect me to agree with them.

So do people not have the right to oppose that view in a free society? If he put it out there, groups who do not believe have the right to voice their opinions correct? I really don't have a problem with what Phil, crazy Muslim, or atheists have to say publicly, but expect the back lash.

Look at the Dixie Chicks, they were just ashamed of George Bush and it ruined their career.

 

Why wouldn't you agree with them if they were stating their disdain for homosexuality, just like Phil, especially since Christians and Muslims believe in the same God.

 

Exactly and the issue is we(Christians) see A and E suspending Phil and the backlash as people not agreeing with us, which is why we have a 20+ page thread.

 

Not the point, point is while he quoted the bible, Phil put his own touch on his comments.

 

They pissed off people that buy their albums.

Phil pissed off his bosses and a special interest group.


I bet most of those offended have no idea about what he really said. Not heard the part that he said love all of them reported.

When you're a public figure it's the same as going door to door.

 

Of course people have the right to oppose his views, that's exactly my point, freedom of speech. What do you think the media would have done had A&E asked him to do a commercial about gay rights and he said no? He would have been tossed under the bus then too.

So he should be restricted to political correctness then? He should be censored? Get out of here, that's nonsense.

Two very close gay friends who have adopted two kids from a drug addicted woman and given them a very loving home.
They go to church on Sunday, their kids just sang in the Christmas concert at church. They watch Duck Dynasty, it's not just the fringe that get upset. In fact I am willing to bet a lot of people here are friends with a person who is gay, and have no idea.

So because I may or may not have a gay friend I shouldn't be open about my beliefs? Then homosexuals should also hide their beliefs and be ashamed of being gay too. Yeah, that logic makes perfect sense.

 

I'm also willing to bet there's a lot of good bible following vocal Christians on here that have a browser history full of webpages with women getting it on.
