I doubt Willie is dumb enough to sign over the rights of Duck Dynasty to anyone outside the family. A&E may have the rights to air it for a set length of time, but the brand itself belongs to them. If they outright refuse to do business with A&E they will likely have to sell rights to air it to another network.

I'm extremely interested to see how both sides handle it from this point forward.

I don't see it as either side playing the other. GQ attempted to bait Phil knowing his beliefs. Phil didn't back down to the attempt and gave them what they wanted to stick up for what he believes in. Both sides likely think they "won" the confrontation, and A&E probably had no idea it would go down the way it did cause they kind of lose either way now.

Actually it wasn't monks that translated the Bible. The Bible was written initially by those who God inspired, some of which lived by Jesus' side while he was here on earth. Scribes translated the Bible, many of which would equate to today's librarians, translators, and historians. Biblical scribes weren't limited to priests, or gay monks as you say. Your ignorance is showing.

Ok I'll go with "scribes" instead of monks. Scribes that translated/twisted/were pressured by those in power to manipulate words. Scribes that were sometimes drunk, some were guaranteed gay, and others that may or may not have envisioned themselves in bed with little children. We're scribes inspired by God or where they just people who copied and changed the words to the Bible?

For those who say, "He speaks the truth" here is the issue. It may be your "truth", but not others. As much as Willie has the right to speak his mind, others have the right to live their lives the way they want to. Why do religious folks feel the need to push their values on to others. No one will discover Christ when he's shove in your face. That's why I wish folks would just shut up, if people our living their lives and are happy(not breaking any laws) why bother them?

Saying God hates gay people is not a Truth to someone who does not believe, no different than a Muslims calling your daughter a ***** because she showed some leg.

If you believe in the bible and God, great, but what right do you have to push your beliefs on to others?

You are allowed to believe what you choose, as with everyone else. What you believe is no more accurate than what anyone else believes.

I'll show more ignorance. I don't believe and correct me if I'm wrong, but did Phil serve in the Vietnam War? Or did he just let a homosexual soldier or two die in his stead?

I agree with you, but it seems the voice of christian's is the only voice being silences. The atheist's, the Muslim's, the Gay's, the ACLU's, the PETA's, the Anit-gun's, nobody is trying silence these points of view.

He was asked what his feelings were. He also said let God judge and love them all.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think anyone said God hates gays, including Phil or the Bible - or anyone on this site. I understand your point as long as we're clear that just because someone agrees with Phil doesn't necessarily mean they agree with the content, but the fact that they agree that he is entitled to freedom of speech and he shouldn't be limited to just political correctness. He was answering a question during an interview, he didn't push his beliefs onto anyone. Just because someone agrees with him doesn't mean they are religious or have the same beliefs, and likewise just because someone disagrees with what he said doesn't mean they aren't religious or don't believe in the Bible.

Just as little right as you have to force me to accept your beliefs. This is the point, if the situation were flipped, and phil was a satanist using the satanic bible written by anton lavey to explain a belief system, and a&E suspended him from the show, it would be a massive case of religious persecution. But because phil is christian its suddenly ok to tell him to sit down and shut up?

It seems like everyone is allowed to be loud and proud and vocal about their lifestyle choices, and we are forced to accept them. The only people who arent allowed to be loud and proud about their beliefs are white heterosexual christian males.

At what point to christians get to fight back against the tide of acceptance?

I honestly have no idea if he went to war or not, I know his brother did. But are you saying that anyone who doesn't fight in a war during war time should be looked down upon? Phil never called himself Mr America and he's certainly not self-righteous. If you knew anything about him you'd know that he used to be into drugs, alcohol, and breaking the law. He said in the interview itself that he is a sinner just like everyone else so I'm not sure what you're trying to prove here.

Funny I was at church last night, and it was loud and clear. Before every basketball game for CYO we say a prayer. When I have practice today we'll say a prayer.

I am not going to walk down a street, announce on TV what I believe to be moral. I live by example, it's funny I got rid of cable TV 6 months ago, you all would be amazed of how joyful are lives have become at home. We hear the noise because we have it on, turn if off and you will hear a lot more joy.

Can't argue this point, at all!! However, if what I believe doesn't fall under today's, bleeding heart, liberal agenda, I get labeled. Tolerance is a two way street, although it seems as if all the traffic is going the same way.

Phil was giving an interview to a magazine. This was not on TV. Should he have just made everything up and not answered honestly? His particular comment that's under fire had nothing to do with their show.

What you think A and E would have given him a raise if he was satan lover?

If he would have said, I love God and I follow the bible. Do you think he would have been suspended? After every speech the President and the past many say "God Bless America".

Here's the deal Christmas is not under attack, Christianity is not under attack. We bring it on ourselves because being persecuted is part of being a Christian the past 2000 years. In reality if we take a huge look around United States, we're doing just fine:)
