Has anyone gone out yet in search of bone? I havent made it out yet, because most deer here in illinois arent shedding quite yet. I did get a picture of a small buck with one antler, but for me thats not enough sign to enter the woods. I have two 170+ deer that come into my tiny food plot at night. The time I think ill go in is probably somewhere at the end of january or beginning of febuary. Has anyone found any sheds yet this year?

We are still in the "unpacking" part of moving.
I haven't been able to go yet. I'll probably wait till the end of the month.

Once the trail cams get pics of shed bucks that's when you go looking.

I will start looking end of January. But I won't go anywhere near the bedding areas. Just the food sources mid day when there isn't a risk of apookong the deer. Don't wanna scare em out and have their sheds fall on different property. Can't wait to start seeing ATL's!!

All the bucks here in Maine dropped before the end of December... a little early this year.

Anyone else from Virginia on here shed hunting? I don't know many in the state that do but it would be nice to find someone else to help eachother know when they start falling. I have seen bucks carry both sides up until April around here but I have also found fresh sides in February so ya never know.

I'm in va. Heading out tomorrow for about an 8 mile round. It's still early no doubt but some of the biggest sheds we have found have came from mid jan. I had 5 bucks come by me in April one time Turkey hunting that were still packing. We've done covered close to 40 miles the past couple of weeks but haven't found any. We're just hitting up new spots trying to find some deer and turning them into shed/scouting trips. Most of our sheds come in March.

Good to know, where abouts in VA if you don't mind me asking? I'm in the Roanoke area. The biggest set I found was from early February which blew my mind but I guess anything is possible since you seem to find them earlier too.
