Just wondering if anyone can let me know when beans/corn are usually harvested? I'm in Pa. Tried calling the farmer who farms the fields on our lease but he hasn't gotten back to me. I was going to brush in a blind in the corn on the edge of the field for an east wind but I don't want to bother if the crops will be harvested with the next cpl of weeks.

Depends on the seed planted, could be 90-120 day corn or beans.

Im in York Co. Pa and kinda have the same situation.. the farmer on my lease does his 2nd or 3rd week of Oct as he has lots of corn and I have 2 ground blind sets set up myself and also 2 treestand sets too.. but don't let that scare you away. Even more so if u get on there the day or 2 after he cuts it down as the deer love coming in and getting the left over corn....

Like Soto said, depends on which variety he planted. also when he got them in the ground. could have been early if dry and warm or late if lot of rain. In SW Iowa some of the beans are coming out now. Saw one working on corn. Also depends on the moisture contet and if they want to dry it or not. With propane prices down I look for more to do on farm drying rather than take a dock at the elevator. Didn't help you much I know but a lot of variables. Don't bother the farmer with your phone calls. All you will do is piss him off as his work is a lot more important to him than your hunting. Go look for yourself.

Impossible for anyone to say but the farmer. Even if it's ready now, he's the only one that has any idea when he'll actually harvest it. He may have 10,000 acres on the other side of the county to cut first for all we know.

In Wi both corn and beans are running about 9 days behind normal. Not that when normal is.

I'm already seeing some bean fields being picked. Corn has a while yet.

Silage gets cut first here in NY then field corn then bean. And all local farms began cutting silage at the beginning of this week. But only a good relationship with the farmer can get you the real scoop from year to year

Corn is being picked sparingly around here now. which is actually early but we had a long dry stretch here in Eastern Iowa, so some of the corn is ready. Most will be picked by Nov 1 this year.
