The week of Sept 20th for bears in Ontario. As far as whitetails go, as soon as I get daylight photos of mature bucks pre-rut I will start hunting hard. I am self-employed, so I can be pretty flexible.
August 27th through September 12th for Elk. Ill take a week off the frist week of November for deer. Thanksgiving week and two weeks for christmas. Should be a fun year. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I537 using Tapatalk
Whenever the weather starts to get interesting from middle of October to middle of November. No advanced notice of absence from my job sure is nice!
I will take off about 15 of 35 days starting October 15th or so. I will get to hunt most of the other evenings. BUT, I will work about 180 days in a row to that though. My last day off I sat in a turkey blind April 26...my next day off October 15 I hope.
only work Mon-Thurs, off every Friday and if a federal holiday is on the following Monday i get that day as well.
I took opening day off. If we stay on 12 hr shifts I work I get 7 straight days off every 28. Plus another 7(work 14 of 28 days) so fortunately I get a bit of time off.
I like to use my vacation days as hunting probability presents itself. Since work doesn't require me to schedule vacation in advance I can make last minute decisions based on the moon, weather, rut, coin flip, whatever.
September 19th to the 28th for a moose hunt here in Maine. Then November 7th through the 17th we head to Illinois for whitetails! Plus every morning or afternoon depending what shift I am on at work.
As of now I have a a 4 day weekend planned for Halloween weekend then I have the entire second week of November off. I will mix in a random day here or there as well depending on weather
I did that same thing one year because it was something I thought I always wanted to do. I don't think I'll ever do it again. It got to be too much like work towards the end. Blessings........Pastorjim
A week in Sept. for MN black bear. Last week in Oct. for a South Dakota hunt. First two weeks in Nov. for big woods MN whitetails. Plus whatever the work schedule allows in between. Wow just saying that gets me excited.
1st week of September to Maine for a bear hunt which me and couple of friends have been doing for a few years. 2nd week of October going to Newfoundland for a moose hunt. I am excited although my wife is not. I will have some serious honey-do lists when this hunting season is over.
Thanks GL, I am really looking forward to it. Something I have wanted to do for a long time and God has made a way.
