I think shooting a deer at anything more than 100yds is being a Sniper. Anything 100 yds or less is being a Hitman.

So your fine with someone walking into the woods with an AK47 or some other ridiculous weapon and shooting whatever walks in front of him then leaving the carcass to rot?

because im not for that sort of "unethical" type of hunting.

The definition of hunting, is the question, here.

Hunting is about putting food on the table. This is where it started, and, this is where it ends. So, any legal means of taking game, for this purpose, is hunting.

Native Americans ran buffalo off of cliffs- that was hunting.

We shoot deer at 20yards with a bow- that's hunting.

So, can this be taken in "context" ? Not really, because hunting is hunting. How you go about the ultimate goal, taking wildlife, is a sub category under HUNTING.

I don't think your original question said anything about a hunter shooting any deer and leaving the carcass to rot. I thought your original post was about a hunter LEGALLY shooting a LEGAL deer with a LEGAL gun. If it didn't, please clarify.

You definition of unethical is illegal in my mind. There's a difference between the two.

I can't believe anybody would use a gun.. Gun hunters just suck and can't get deer within bow range..
