I am a southern/western Kentucky hunter. I have come across many scrapes over the years. But have never witnessed one being made. So I ask when is the opportune time to make your mock scrapes? In my area more less. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'd assume pre-rut into the rut would be best. This is just on my observations of actually finding them in the suburban area I hunt in VA
My two cents on mock scrapes is I use them in pa starting when antlers start too harden and here thats usually around mid August. It works well on big mature and small bucks and I have pics and videos of from spikes too high 170s working my mock scrapes in past years.I would be happy too post a few if you would like too see some once I get a little time too dig a few out too post.
I am setting mine up this month. Bow season is a little over month away and I want to see what dominant bucks are in the area.
I think i remeber Todd in one of the last couple episodes already stating his. People start theirs at all different itmes of the years just something you have olay around with and see what happens. Good luck to ya
