If this is your plan then it sounds to me like your on the right track. I'd be in 1 hour before legal shooting light... and I'd wait til a good cold front blew over the night or day before dropping temps and changing winds... I'd also keep the moon phase in mind.. full is usually bad unless cloudy skies... anything with little moonlight is better... all these factors should help contribute to a buck staying on his feet longer that morning as he touches up scrapes and occupies himself with some scent checks of local lady hangouts before returning to bed.
I agree 100% with this post. I don't do a.m. hunts till at least the last week in October unless a real strong cold front blows in. That said, when I do start morning hunts, it's usually about 30 minutes before light. But, if I am trying to get real aggressive in his bedroom, I've been known to head in at 3 am to be sure I beat him to bed. This strategy has netted me some great hunts but I have not made a kill while doing it.
