63 days and counting till the NY northern zone opener. :D I've been out of touch with the competitive archery side of things this year because of endless home projects and LOTS of work travel..........but boy I'm really starting to get the itch for bow season. I've got a TON of vacation time this year too (2 full weeks), and told the guys at work no trade shows or travel from October to December. I've got so much work ahead of me to get ready, lots of scouting at two new properties, tons of stands to hang, bows to tune and setup for hunting, and a couple of work weekends at two different camps. When does your seasons start? Are you behind the 8 ball right now in terms of scouting/shooting/tuning/etc?
ND - Sept 3 MN - Sept 18 I will have plenty of work to do in Aug....shooting...preparing stand locations...scouting...getting equipment ready
Heading out for deer or elk, depending on work, on September 6th. All gear is in check and ready to go!
Arkansas starts Oct. 1st. Got 1 week of Vac., come Sept. 23 have 3 more additional weeks. I have a ton of stuff to do also.
I have to be ready by September 17th. I'm not even close because my summer has been so crazy. I've got 3 more tied up weekends and then it will be nothing but hunting prep.
My preparation for bear hunting starts here In Minnesota In 17 days. Bear season then opens September 1st here. Elk, Muley's, Blackbear then In Colorado around the 16th of September. Then back home to Minnesota for the archery deer that opens September 18th. It's getting closer!! I need to get my **** together for this Colorado hunt yet. I'm way behind In that right now.
Hung two stands yesterday and put steps into another. The Fedex guy should be dropping off 3 new Ol Man Roost stands today and the UPS guy is scheduled to bring me 50 pounds of Peredovik Sunflowers to add to a few plots that I have. I have plans to plow 2 acres after work today with more to do this weekend. Tuesday I have a trip to my local (or not so local shop) to pick up the last pieces to the Swat rig. The Destroyer is dialed. Things are finally getting fun. And I have met my one real goal already. My wood is cut for the winter, I just have to split a bit more and get things stacked.
Impressive. Oct. 2 will be here before we know it, and my plot is already in and going strong (perennial plots are nice that way:D), but I may be planting one small plot at the end of August as well. All of my main sets are hung, but I'm looking to purchase two more stands and ladders and get them hung, but that won't happen until I get back from Canada in August. My Sentinel is dialed in pretty well, but I still need to make some adjustments here and there. I swapped over strings on my Marquis, and will get that dialed in hopefully this week.
September 18th here in Wisconsin. 52 days to go. I just asked my wife for the honey do list so I can get all the stuff done at home prior to the season.
Sept. 15 in MD Sept. 18 Antlerless in PA Oct. 2 Antlered and antlerless in PA I've got some work to do in terms of hanging stands. We've been stuck in a heat wave with temps hovering around 100 so I've been hoping for it to cool down a bit. If it doesn't soon I'll have to suck it up and hope I don't stink up the area too bad setting up.
