When do you harvest your Doe?

    It's bologna for me. Both does that I killed this year are burger less the backstraps and loins. I am gonna make a mad mess of bologna. I'll get the wife her roasts and steaks from the third doe or the buck.

    I can take up to 10 does throughout the season here at home. We're over-run with deer here, so I'm not hurting myself by doing so, especially since the chance of seeing what most of you would call a "shooter buck" here in this particular location is slim to none. Not impossible, but very unlikely. Besides, my primary purpose in "deer hunting" is to fill my freezer with venison. Antlers are a bonus to me.

    I may be changing a bit, though. I haven't even started to hunt my lease in Perry County where there is the possibility of taking a really good buck, but when I do, the does will get a pass. I'll be serious about the hunts there this year.

    Yea same here i just try to 1 try to get the meat and 2 manage the deer population, there are way to many does running around here.
