Just wondering when the teams come out. I went out to the property I hunt this evening. To my surprise what has been alfalfa fields for several years is corn and last years corn is now soy beans. So you might thinking what's teh big deal but there is a load of prints walking along the cornfield right past my stand, and the soybeans are definitely have signs of deer moving thru them by my other stand. I plan on puting some throw-n-grow on the edge of the soybeans under my stand to help bring them in a little closer. Looks promising. Might do well for my team this year. Season's only a month away now.

End of the month. Think the 29th or 30th.

Is that the same spot you gave me permission to hunt? Might have just made my decision about buying WI tags!

no that's the 80 acres I hunt near my house. But get your tags and I'll take you my spots in the kettle (big woods).

I hope your not hunting across the street from me. :) I have seen 4 shooters so far on the property and a mile down the road in a big soy bean field another 2 shooters. Shooter = 3 years old and 130+

My neighors both went from corn to soy bean this year. both planted late crops and are about 8"-10" high right now. They have started hitting them already. I put all my stands in just the right places and one of them by accident. I just found a bedding area in my back yard. its only about 30yd from the house. its small but, you can see all over the inside of the grown up area where they have been laying around in it. I have found 2 trails that come straight accross our yard in the last week while mowing the yard. The watering hole I dug out with ha backhoe from a small natural spring is getting hit hard all of a sudden (noticed it in the past 3 weeks since the beans plants started cominhg up good) Its right between a bedding area and one of the bean fields. The closer we get to opening day the better its looking. I can't wait to see what team I end up on. Hopefully September 10th I'll put my first 50 points up. I have decided I will probably go ahead and shoot a doe for my first bow harvest.

in da woods, sounds like you are going to have a good season. Good luck!!!! I think this team contest is going to add to the fun of the season for me as well as all of us on here.
