Last week in September for the Maine moose hunt, and the second week of November for our trip to Illinois.. Was planning on the first week of Nov. But pushed it back a week due to the full moon.

14th through the 23rd. I like to hunt the new moon during the rut.

    Maybe Dec 25-Dec 31 Kansas

I do love to hunt the rut but it is so unpredictable Where as late season over food isnt as much of a crap shoot If its cold and snowy enough :D

Last year I had November all set up to hunt at least partial days, filled out the vacation request form and then shot my buck that night, so that was 3 weeks of vacation time I didn't use

Can someone please tell me again why we refer to this as vacation?

Work: wake up at 5:15 am, clock in at 6am leave at 4:30pm at home by 5pm. 7 1/2 hours sleep

"Vacation": Wake up at 2:30 am, hit the road at 3:45 am, "clock in" 1/2 hour before sunrise, leave 1/2 hour after sunset, get home at 7 pm. 5 1/2 hours of sleep when lucky. Not to mention the body aches and pains from being in the elements on an elevated platform trying to remain motionless the entire time.

I'll be on vacation next Thursday through the 20th, the last week of my season.

This is what I've done for the last 2 weeks, to no avail. The times are almost exact! I'll give it (rut) one last effort this evening.
