Found a 2015 Spyder 30 & a Faktor 30. What's our thoughts between the two? I might pick one up next week. Both are 60#, new & still in the box at my local bow shop. I love my Nitrium & was just looking at something that is smoother to draw than my Arena 30. This will be mainly my pig rig. I plan on shooting Easton Nemesis 340 spine with 125gr or 150gr head. So it will in the 460-485gr range.
Is it a Carbon Spyder because Hoyt stopped making the Spyder after 2013? They introduced the Carbon Spyder in 2014. They also stopped making the Faktor in 2014. If it is the Carbon Spyder i just shot one a few days ago. I really liked it very light, well balanced, dead in the hand. The draw cycle was a little different than what I was expecting. Before getting to the "break" point there was another "bump" very small and doesn't really affect the draw cycle but you notice it at first. I'm actually going to be upgrading to a Carbon Spyder this summer from my Power Hawk. Never shot the Faktor but never really heard anything negative about it.
It's not a carbon, though he had one of those also. He must have been confused about the year. But they both shot about the same to me.
$650 is a bit over priced for a 2013 Spyder and 2014 Faktor. Look some up on eBay or in the forums here. If you know your draw length and what # range you want you can find some pretty good deals. This will allow some extra $$ for accessories.
I'm gonna hold off. I have a friend that wants to trade me a Pse drive for one of my .17 hmr's. I'm gonna shoot it Monday & make up my mind.
