Thinking back to last week's post about Rex got me thinking. He's been trash talking all through the playoffs, and now he's commending the Steelers on everything from admiration of Tomlin, concern of Polamalu, and even appreciation of Ben. Even some of his players are jumping on the bandwagon. So, is this calculated (trying to get the Steelers too comfortable?), or just true two teams respecting each other?

    I think he's a twisted individual.

I think it's nothing more than a carried-over show of disrespect towards the Colts and the Patriots.

I don't think he actually disrespects either team. In fact, I think he's extremely jealous of both organizations (how they're received by the public).....and it tears him up.

    That's my opinion.

Very well could be. But why is he not only NOT trash talking the Steeler's, but he's commending them?

Like I said.....he's SHOWing more respect for the Steelers than he did the previous 2 weeks' opponents.

Do you really believe (just asking) he respects anyone (any opponent)? And, if he does, do you really think he truly believes the Steelers are a better organization than the Patriots and Colts? Do you really believe he sees Ben as the best QB his team has faced?

I could be wrong. But, I think 'Ol Rex is twisted just enough (understatement) to think this way. By doing/saying what he's done....he can continue to degrade both organizations.

Ratings and interest is up, Rex is doing exactly what the NFL wants.

trashing talking the Patriots was like picking on the Chemistry Major...picking on the Steelers would be like taunting the class bully...he knows better. (I could care less who wins this game - I like Sanchez and LT, but have grown tired of Rex - Steelers always good, just getting kind of sick of them)

    It's the NFC's turn...Go Bears!

I think he realized that he overdid it the past two weeks and now trying to compensate.

i'm no fan of rex or the jets... but I think he's being smart and calculating, to what end I'm not sure though... I think he knows that the steeler organization is a class act, the rooney fam has been one of the best owners in the nfl... I think he dogged the pats/colts because the controversy can help rile up his players... but I think he knows he's not going to get into the heads of the steelers... it actually is going to be a good game, especially so if it were atlanta and seahawks in the nfc champ... the bear/packer game is going to over shadow it in viewership and I think rex knows that, so stirring the pot of controversy isn't gonna buy him much...

I don't like the guy myself. And as a Steelers fan, especially this week. However, I do respect what he's doing there and how he plays defense.

I don't think he's running his mouth as much this week because I think he knows he's in for a rough day against the Steelers. He knows he isn't going to put up many points like he did against weak defenses in the Colts and Pats. The difference in the last meeting with Pittsburgh was blown coverage on a kick return. Otherwise, Jets lose that one.

    I like my Steelers 23 - 13.

Man, Steelers vs. Bears or Steelers vs. Packers... anyway you look at it, it would be a great Super Bowl. Would have the feel of a throwback game. I say if the Steelers make it, both teams should wear throwback uniforms for the Super Bowl.
