I have found one shed and I believe I average 4-5 miles every scouting trip. I have scouted at least 6-7 times. So I average 1 shed every 30 hours or so.....or in other words I SUCK.
I walk until I'm tired... Then for no real reason that I can accurately describe, I keep going until I'm sure that if I don't eat soon, I might starve to death... Then I keep going until I'm 100% sure that if I more one more inch away from the car or ignore one more of my wife's pain-in-my-ass phone calls, she'll be drawing up the divorce papers.... Then, I turn around and shoeleather express my tired ass back to the car. While I'm on the highway, I try to think of some sorry-ass excuse that I can tell her why I'm late (again).
LOL That what I like about Tyler. If the wife is calling... I always tell her it is Tyler's fault why we are late or why we have to spend ever waking moment tromping. Most times it is his fault so that excuse works ever time. I am going to be in trouble when all the kids leave home but I have a plan. I will use the old senile excuse and tell her I forgot where I parked the truck. I lost my keys. I lost my phone. If that doesn't work... I'll just have tell her to call someone who cares. Then there is no way I am going home !! She will need to cool off. That should buy me a few hours or more. It will give me time to find a few more sheds and come up with a great suck up plan that will fail. LOL Tim
My rule is this...DO NOT KEEP TRACK, but rather enjoy the time you have in the woods. I found 10 sheds, 1 matched set in 2007 in three days! Since then I have not found that number from then to present. It's fun I guess to keep track for some people, but if your using it to gauge the timing on your findings it is really has no meaning.
