Going up to mom's to help her with yard work, fix stuff and cut a tree down. Will stop at the cemetery and pay my respects to dad. Will miss him not being there on the farm. Crazy as it sounds... even though I only live 60 miles from the home place, when we would visit dad and mom... dad would always take me on a tour of his big yard to show me the trees and flowers he planted in the spring. We would then walk around the hay equipment reminiscing about the old days when I was a kid and what his plans were for the summer for haying. Fix a few things. Gonna really miss that tour without him. Tim
Probably nothing I want to do. If I did get to do what I wanted it would be some fluke fishing in Long Island Sound on the new boat.
We're celebrating today instead of tomorrow. The girls and I are taking Daddy out for a steak dinner he won't have to grill himself. Then we're all going to the bar and Daddy gets to watch the whole ball game, and mama promises to drive home.
As strange as it sounds I wish we were putting up hay. Our supplier said another two weeks and we have just about two weeks worth of hay left for our horses. As for my plans for father's day, our club has a bow shoot tomorrow at 9:00. I'm getting there two hours early and I'm taking my beagle pup (Elly May), some deer blood/liver and a hind hoof with the tarsal gland (I have a supply frozen just for this purpose) along to do some blood trail training. Then I'll be coming home, cleaning up and heading out to a movie and then dinner. Seems kind of strange to me that with all of the kids gone, my wife taking me out for dinner is, for all intents and purposes, me taking her out for dinner. She wins no matter what. :D
1st and foremost... Going home and sleeping since I work overnights then I am going to get up and spend the day with my fiancee and my son... My daughter is with her mother otherwise i'd have her with me as well
First I want to say Happy Father's Day to all you guys! Unless your gay and have no kids, well than you'd be missing out on an enjoyable day. For me? I'm going to start off on a nice breakfast with the wife and kids, and then hit some trails to do some hiking.after that I have a softball game a 2:00 and after that I'll drink a beer or two.
