Theres most likely a large percentage of us that have a Lab as a family member and hunting buddy whats your labs crazy behavior? I have a 2 1/2 year old Black Lab and shes a nut case lol 1. She barks at anything that moves!! leaves, house flys ANYTHING!! 2. I cant walk out the door without her barking to come with me. thats a higher pitch bark. 3. shes HIGH STRUNG if visitors come she cant control it she has to jump and kiss them to death Im sure there a couple others i could add but these are the main 3 that i just cant get worked out of her from. lol
If I ever bath my black lab hr runs and rubs his body into the first dirt pile he can find as soon as I am done.
Just the usual lab craziness. She really hates it if she thinks she is being left out. If she is in the backyard and can hear the kids in the front yard she will risk life and limb to go see what they are doing. Obsesses about her toys big time She is an awesome dog
We had 2 and our crazy one had to be put down this spring . We used to have to spell words like bath and ball around him cause if he heard them he'd go crazy till he got them . Only dog I've seen that would run to the tub and wait if he heard you say bath . My wife was the worst , she would tell one of the kids that it was bath time and Gunner would beat them to the tub R.I.P. Gunner
My lab took 'high energy' to an entirely new level. I thought there was something wrong with her. Graf told me I paid extra for that energy. Next time I'm getting the discount model. She's really smart and very loving but really only has two speeds; full steam ahead and worn out. It used to be that the worn out only lasted a few minutes before she was recharged and running full steam again for hours. Now as she gets up there in age she has more worn out time... but she's still hard charging when she's rested. There's hardly any in between speed. It was years before I saw her walk from point A to point B on her own. Otherwise, she. Must. Run. Everywhere. Always. As much of a spaz as she is, she will not jump into the truck. She will put her paws on the tailgate and then look at me until I come over and lift her rear end up. She's a smaller lab but I know she can jump in there because she'll do it when she thinks I'm not looking. I think it amuses her that she has me so well trained.
I dont have a lab, but he goes crazy when my wife or I leave him somewhere with the other person. He also lays on someones lap during long car rides.
Mine likes to wear my Camo. Another lab I had during my first marriage liked to chew on rocks and tackle people for their beer.
1. She only barks while looking at the ground; 2. She barks at her rawhide treats before picking them up and chewing on them; 3. She likes to run hot laps before laying down to rest; and 4. She gooses my wife at least once a day.
Another thing my lab does is he will not eat his dinner until everyone else is sitting at the table eating dinner. His food is right next to the table, that actually is my favorite trait about him.
Mine is just 1.5 years old...he eats everything...lol. He also puts his front feet up on out swing and swings...crazy dog...lol
My black lab is 9 and sleeps a lot more now than a few years ago. At 90 pounds he likes to lay on top of people, he has consumed 3 pillows, and 2 hand towels in his life, he would walk through fire for pizza, and he's a furniture humper. Yes even at 9 and after we had his boys removed he still gets the urge to rail the recliner, or couch, or corner of the bed while your trying to sleep.
Just like the OP, our barks at anything that moves. She will even bark at the family as they come up the driveway. She loves to chase bubbles and a spot light beam on the ground at night.
