Not trying to thread steal here but would buying binos be worth it? I currently use my rangefinder if I need to look for something... My whole thing is I don't see a point in scanning the woodline cause if it doesn't walk out you can't shoot it so I find it better to not know but maybe I'm wrong. Are there any other uses other than scanning really? And what kinds do y'all use

Harness, and my range finders are a must. I also love my Luminok's for those lower light situations.

I need the binocs and range finder. Of course after the deed is done you can't beat the Havalon Piranta knife for processing. Always sharp as you just slap on a need scapel blade.

Binos for sure. I left mine at home one time this season so far and I felt like I was not hunting sufficient enough. I was trying to see around me and just couldn't make anything out. It was my worst day hunting so far this year.

I am the boy scout of our bunch. Everyone in my group keeps it simple because they know I will have everything they need. lol! Every group has to have one..... All seriousness my hunt buddies are always asking me for something. Whether it’s a tree saw, TP, gloves, or an insulating layer, eye drops, a band aide, or lip sh*t..........

Oh and there is no way in h*ll I could ever leave the pickup without binos. It's like x-ray vision in heavey cover.

I would say my harness, but I have forgotten my strap for my harness before. I still hunted but I've either taken to my ground blinds or my ladder stands with shooting rails around them.

#1) My camera.. I LOVE taking pics of deer/other wildlife that I know for a fact I am not going to put an arrow or slug through.. Especially when deer or turkeys are all over me/directly under me. A few dumb doe fawns this year put on a show every night for a week under my favorite stand. Posing for me it seemed... Or this past weekend, 2 big toms basically tried to kill each other in front of me, down the ridge a ways. I like to try and get them with the camera.... no meat or blood but the adrenaline is still there for sure!

#2) My knives.. Ya better have some sharp knives on ya if you're hunting our farm's terrain in SE IN... cuz if you get a big doe or decent-bodied buck on the ground, and forgot the knives... well ha, have fun. Dragging up-hill is MUCH better when you can drop 30-40 pounds of guts before the drag. (of course this is for people who can't get an ATV in some places). I always have to drag :deer:

This, I also wear it for saftey reasons in the dark.
I have binos but I never take them to the woods, but then again most of my sets are 30 yards max.
I can't understand why so many guys make a big deal out of binos, if you can't see it with your naked eye you cannot shoot therfor what's the point?
Another good gift for any hunter to hunter is a knife everyone loves a good knife.

Me too Joe. I can hunt without them just fine but they sure are a nice tool to have In the stand.

I use to do this. It almost costed me a mid 150's buck 2 years ago. Since that sit I haven't brought It with since. I was taking pictures of 3 doe's south of me 20 yards when all of a sudden straight on to me 50 yards comes out walking the buck I was hunting. I almost got caught taking pictures of the other deer by him. He never did get any closer then 30 yards so I had to pass on the shot but It was just too close for comfort on almost getting busted and not getting ready and In position In time. Problem for me Is, I LOVE taking the camera with hunting.

Binos are towards the top of a lot of people's list...yet lots of people ask why not just a good rangfinder. I'll be honest a rangefinder would work for 90% of the locations I hunt. It's all about what your terrain is like. When hunting field edges or even some clear cuts I'll throw in a pair of binos (I need a better pair though)...however most of the time my hunting would be just as easy with a good rangefinder (but to this point I still haven't splurged and bought one).

My personal never leave home without item would be my apple cover scent spray. I've experienced too many times deer busting my path when I didn't spray down my boots with the stuff to the times I remembered...simply never leave the house or the truck without the stuff now.

Well to be honest, I take a lot of stuff with me including many knives, warm things, anything I might need but the one thing I can't get through a hunt without is my dip. lol
