I am Trying to gather up some ideas for Christmas for myself and some hunting buddies. So what are some must have items in your opinion?

    Besides the obvious, bow/arrow stuff...

It'd be my binoculars.. must have, can't leave home, feel naked in the tree without... but I'd imagine you're not thinking them...then rangefinder

I carry a predator call with me for that rare opportunity at a coyote...

    deer calls
    rattle bag/antlers
    tree hooks
    wind indicators
    Scent Killer

A small doe/fawn bleat call, grunt tube, and binos. Every hunt.

My harness. I won't go without it anymore.

My bow. Again, but for more obvious reasons.

That's about it. I go light. I do wear binos/rangefinder on a bino harness, but don't HAVE to have them. I hate packing all kinds of crap in to the tree. I used to. I'd bring a whole backpack full of goodies. Never know when I'll need a flashlight, 50 ft of paracord, rattling antlers, a grunt tube, two water bottles, a few granola bars, extra gloves, extra hand warmers, a second camo hat, etc.... then I realized, I won't need those things.

My harness (still use HSS vest) has a grunt tube, release, thin gloves, and extra carabiner in it. That is all I take besides my bow, camo I wear, and bino harness.

I normally travel light to, but i dont think that it really matters because i dont have a really long walk to the stand. So more weight isnt an issue.

    Nikon Monarch ATB 8x42

I use them to look for deer, through brush where you eyes can't see. Verify movements, low light conditions and most importantly, to verify the hit and watch the animal after the shot.. at this moment they can be your most valuable tool.

I am a pretty simple guy but I can't seem to have enough gloves and hats/facemasks for various weather/temps.

headlamp, because I'm pretty sure I'd trip over a lot of fences without it.

Like said abouve I also just bought 2 things this season I never leave the house without. One being a extended bow hanger the other is my hand saw. I have used the saw way more than I ever thought i would. I will be buying a Wicked saw next season as my Ameristep will probably be done by the end of this season. lol The bow hanger is a HME products with the accessory hook. I do love my Wicked saw, so much sturdier than the Gerber saw I had before.

LW climber and hang ons with sticks. I hunt public and move constantly, always hanging and hunting. Couldn't imagine having the same mobility with any other stands.

x2. Just bought a new pair of mid-weight Manzella bow gloves and lost one on the sixth or seventh hunt. Looking for new gloves again. Want a different balaclava for the winter season too. The one I have is nice, but not long enough.

I found myself leaving my binoculars in the car because it seemed like they were always in the way in the stand. Since I started doing some 3D shoots this summer, I really needed to find a better way to keep them around. Saw the Vortex guys wearing these and I've loved mine so far: thumbnail_generator.php?maxw=300&img=bac_strap_arch_down_mark-t.jpg Vortex.

If you're in a cold weather state, there are products that do a really good job of helping to keep you warm. Heat Factory makes a kidney belt that holds two warmer packs right over your kidneys to warm blood as it circulates and they also have a couple of head coverings with pockets for warmers. I have the neck gaiter they make and it's awesome when the temps hit -20.
