    Thanks, I will...

I guess what I meant is it would help to be independently financially secure enough so as not have those challenges. I did not mean to be critical of any conregation. My uncle has been trying to encourage me to write a humorous book about pastor search committees. Who knows... it may make the best seller list.

Hope you all get your slab poured soon... is it a new church building or an addition?

Dream jobs are most often probably pipe dreams. LOL The grass is greener and all that. The first time I sold a business I knew I was too young to try and not do anything. Besides that... I didn't have enough money to quit at that tender age. So I bought a couple books. The one that I went with had a theory... "If money were no object what would you like to do". The book suggested that was the way to go. So I sort of went with it. I was living in Georgia at the time and said I want to be outdoors in a hunting adventure. Yeah... right... hunting adventure.

So I decided to take the test. Georgia was recruiting big time for game wardens/conservation officers. My home was paid for... my wife had a teaching job...we could live comfortably in our own little world I thought. rookie So I applied to take the test. So many people applied that they ended up having to spread it out over two test periods. When I took the test so did 750 others. They told us we would hear something in 6 months. 2 weeks later I got a call from the head honcho in Georgia DNR. He told me I had nailed the test and had a job for me. Problem... I had to move to Savanna. I said I'd rather be assigned locally. He said it isn't going to happen... I need you in Savanna.

OK... so you read the book and followed the "If money were no object" theory. So starting salary was a whopping $14,000 plus. WHAT???? Yup that was it. The immediate job opening was because the 2 turkeys working the Savanna area had been helping the drug smugglers smuggle drugs. It seems that the DNR people were helping with coastal interdiction of drug running. So here I am in la la land... not long back from 2 tours in Vietnam and this guy wants to put me back in a shooting war for $14000. Sooooooooooooo..... I didn't take the dream job. I called him back in a couple days and told him no thank you. Then I went in a different direction. LOL

I think owning a Mountain bike shop somewhere in the Rockies would be a pretty sweet job. Do bikes in the summer and rent Ski equipment in the winter. Maybe one of these days.....

Maybe. There's also a lot more less than stellar wells, too.

    Looks like Bieber

I have a dream job, but watched "Act of Valor" last night and realized I should have been a SEAL
I would love to maybe have a k9 someday. If I weren't in law enforcement, I think teaching history would fun.

Looked into it last year before i turned 42, thinking i could still get in...........nope, now i'm to old. Bummed!!!!!

I thought the PGA Tour and other tours around the world would've been amazing...........not so much when your family is back home and the kids are growing up fast.......

Now i'm in sales for the last 10-12 years. Hate it for the last few years. Wish I owned my own business! Been trying to figure out what I want to do now.

Be a the first Black Professional Whitetail Deer Hunter. The market may be saturated, but I have yet to see this. And if I live long enough, I will be the first! Count on It!
