work is not bad right now. Three twelve hour shifts a week with the same schedule as my wife. 4 days a week off to hunt, fish, and relax together (8 in a row if we schedule it right). This RN thing isn't a bad gig and the wages are plenty adequate between the two of us to live very comfortable lifestyles on.

When this is over I plan on retiring with a few hundred head of angus, 50,000$ a month in oil lease income, and I'm going to chew Skoal, drink whiskey, go on dream hunts, and just chill out until Jesus comes back.

I'm totally happy with what I'm doing now, it just doesn't pay real well.
I like growing crops, raising critters and working my medical coder job from a home office. :) Mostly, I just don't want to have to work in an office or other 9 to 5-ish type job again.

I've always wanted to do some sculpting too.

I don't know if a dream job exists for me. If it did I'd make a lot more effort to reach it.

I've lived the dream and had to quit. Hunting guide was a great job but the pay sucked and dating sucked. I would still love to do it again but I don't see it happening in the next few years.

My dream job was the one I had when the military guided me to retirement. I was the military equivalent of a criminal analyst. Only job I ever had where I looked forward to going to work EVERY day.

If you have enough land, $50,000 a month is pretty common. Most of the time they get over $100,000 a month for the first year but when it slows down its between $20,000-$50,000...atleast with the few people I know. Pretty nuts. Not sure why we cant seem to get our land leased. They are playing hardball so well play back. Hopefully they come back and make things right. Sure would be nice lol.

I would say that has to be more a rarity than anything. Unless there's a lot more rich farmers and ranchers out there than we know of :D

Or maybe I should move west :D

I dont think its to rare but who knows. I have only talked to a few that I know close enough to tell me real numbers like that. The lowest I know of is they had it for about 20 months now and they are getting $18000-20000 a month on 155 acres. My friends parents have 225 ac and they get around 35-40k a month but they are just over a year in, maybe 14 months now. They were getting a heck of a lot more at first I know that...not sure the exact though.
